Data Execution Protection Error when flying NZPP or Norfolk Island?

Hi Rob,

Do you have any idea why Vista would force FSX to crash when flying on your scenery? For some reason it lets me load up fine anywhere else but NZPP and Norfolk Island. I've disabled UAC and done my best to disable DEP but it won't go away! Any ideas?

One thing you can try is collect all your saved flights (My Documents) and put them into a desktop folder (you can replace your flights later) , you will off course revert to a default flight , you then create a flight at those locations , Norfolk or NZPP , many times your a saved flight can get corrupted . if this works you simplly put one by one your saved flight back into the Flight Simulator X Files .

I almost never use saved flights, this is going from the quick flight menu.

You may want to check your 'my doccument folder' anyway and delete anything it if anything it it .

Cheers Ian. Gave that a try but still no change???

I run FSX from a separate partitioned drive "D:\" where as the rest of the computers programs etc are run off of the C:\ drive where Vista is installed.

I would install your VISTA cd and do a complete fix re-install , other is FS_Register_Repair , this works with FS9/FSX and availiable from FlightOne Software

Sorry, I've been without net access this week, just using the library now and then.
The only thing I'm aware of is an autogen problem with large-scale photo scenery, fixed with SP2 -- do you have all FSX updates installed?

Sounds like that might be the problem. I've not had any previous problems running FSX over the last year or so that it's been installed, though I don't think I've updated to SP2. I think it's time I bought the deluxe edition and started cracking on with some scenery and mission design so I think I'll try get a copy of FSX Deluxe + Acceleration and start fresh.

If you already have MS Flight Sim X you don't need to buy the deluxe version you can download the SP2 from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...32-5a41a3e27ff0 or just buy the Flight Sim x Acceleration pack you can get it for around $45.00 to $50.00 depending where you buy it from
