NZAA Question

Hey Robin,

I was just wondering what you were intending to do regarding NZAA; specifically, do you think you'll include the Northern runways? Or will you build the terminal as it is right now and then add a patch with the Northern runways and, eventually, the new terminals when they're built?

Also, when do you think NZAA will be released? I'm assuming it's only in its early stages at the moment, but any news would be cool.

I'm not able to give any release schedule for anything at the moment, simply because I'm still technically in heart failure -- sometimes I can work, sometimes I can't. Plus anything I can do to prevent stress -- such as not committing to a deadline:) -- helps me recover.

I can really only model what I can see and photograph -- a large part of what I do involves photographic textures, so if I can't photograph it, I can't model it.

The reality is that every airport is going through permanent upgrades, and all I can do is model a particular airport at a single point in time. I generally don't do updates or patches. I have said that NZCH will be updated once the new terminal is completed, but since NZCH is my local this is a personal project. And that's assuming that it is released before the upgrade is completed anyway:)

I know that a lot of people expect updates, but there are a lot of reasons why I don't do them. It would actually be a full-time job for two of me to keep up with airport upgrades, with no real way to pay for the time and resources, plus there are just too many airports without any custom scenery. I am a loooooooong way behind my original schedule, simply because I haven't been well.

I may post some early development screenshots in the new year, but this isn't always a good idea -- some features go through so many tweaks that early versions may not represent the finished scenery very well. Once it starts looking more like an airport and less like a dog's breakfast I'll let you see it...

Ah okay, that's all fair enough. Thanks for the information anyway I can understand how it must be a tricky job to get things done at all, even without having gone through heart surgery, cos I'm struggling just to make myself do exam revision.. haha. But nah, that's fine. Take your time if it's what's best, and the end result will be worth it.

Then again, seeing as I live in Auckland, and my dad can never resist a trip to the airport... maybe in the meantime I can have myself a wee bit of practise at Gmax Hah it probably wouldn't get all that far from looking like a dog's breakfast, but I can dream
