This section will grown in response to, well, questions:) You will not be able to post questions here -- please begin a new topic, or use the general support thread which will be active once the scenery is released.

Why the delay with the release of the airports?
I know I said a long time ago that NZAA and NZAR are in development, but they are still some time away. This is almost entirely due to my poor health. Many forum members would be aware that mid-2009 I underwent major heart surgery, to fix a very long-term problem. Since this is not the type of thing which you recover fully from, I am unable to put in the same hours that I used to do prior to my illness.

However my goal is still to produce a payware NZAA, and a freeware NZAR.

What is 'Real New Zealand Supercity' going to cost?
The full price will be NZ$55 for a download, and a bit more boxed. It may be available on SimMarket for a bit cheaper as a download, as my bandwidth costs are high. Check back when the scenery is released for final details.

This is more expensive than previous releases, but unfortunately this is necessary to maintain the business.

There will be an upgrade offer for those who already own Auckland City for FS2004. However Supercity will not become part of the FSX Collection.

Will I be able to see my house?
I don't know -- do you live in Auckland? :) Well, assuming that you do live in Auckland, and that your house was built before the aerial photo was taken, then the answer is -- I don't know.

There are a couple of factors to consider -- first, the aerial image is made up of a lot of individual images, and the quality of each can vary. Some parts of the Auckland image are pin-sharp, some are rather murky. Also, there's the resolution to consider. This scenery has a resolution of 2.5 metres per pixel. Each pixel can only be a single colour -- that's the way it is, and we can't change that no matter how hard we try. So if your house is 200 square metres, it can only be represented by 32 pixels at the most. Not really enough to define it well. Back in the old days, when I was writing video games, we could create 'sprites', or movable characters, from a 16 by 16 pixel block. This gave us a total of 256 pixels to play with, or eight times what defines your house. So Donkey Kong could have a lot more personality than your house in FSX.

However you can get a good look at your neighbourhood. To do so, you may wish to turn the autogen off temporarily. The autogen adds a 3D aspect to the sim, but let's face it, it is not really able to simulate the average Kiwi house. Plus the autogen coverage is 'representative' of Auckland -- it doesn't define every house. That would be silly for a simulator.

Why do the houses look like shops -- especially that dreadful yellow one?
If you've installed any Orbx scenery, you may get this. The way that Orbx designs their scenery means that default autogen buildings are replaced, for use in Australia only. This unfortunately affects the autogen in New Zealand.
You must disable the Orbx scenery when flying in New Zealand. To do this, use the tool which came with the Orbx scenery. This turns the new autogen on and off -- you want it on to fly in Australia, and off in New Zealand.
