FS2004 Paraparaumu

Hi Rob,
I've been having some issues with FS9 recently & while checking for any duplicate/multiple AFCADs, i found there were 3 for NZPP in my sim!!!
Can you tell me which of these 3 is the rogue, please.
I have one in RealNZ Paraparaumu/scenery folder, one in Scenery/world/Scenery folder and another in Addon Scenery/Scenery folder.
I'm certain that this scenery does not require 3 AFCADS.
Your assistance would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Ross.
By the way, how you are recovering from the quake?

Hello Ross, I'll chip in:
Remove the AFCAD in Addon Scenery/Scenery
The other two are fine, one "pins" the elevation in the strange NZ environment.

If you are using the GNZLAP AI package, overwrite the AFCADs in those 2 locations with the GNZLAP one.

Hi Charl,
Thanks for the speedy reply.
I knew at least one of the AFCADs wasn't needed & probably shouldn't be there.
What made it worse was checking the properties showed the AFCAD in RealNZ paraparaumu/scenery is dated 2008, whereas the other 2 are dated 2006!!!!
Logic says that the 2008 would be the odd one out, but i know that doesn't always apply....
I'll delete that one & see how it goes.

The main problem i am having is that the gauges appear to be approx. 20 degrees out.
I have tried downloading a new magdec file & that works until i shut down FS9.
When i re-start it, the gauges are out again, usually showing the true heading rather than the magnetic one.
I can't find anything wrong elsewhere in the sim.
I have also tried the 'fix registry' thing, with the same results.
Any ideas would be really appreciated.
I certainly don't fancy a full fresh install of my FS9.

Thanks
Ross.

Umm Ross, of course the 2 AFCADs must be the same...

As to your other issues: International settings to "Southern/Eastern" hemisphere?
Failing that, renaming the FS9.cfg is quicker than a reinstall, the sim will rebuild a basic one.

Hi Charl,
thanks again for your reply.
I thought the 2 AFCADs should be the same, thats what threw some confusion in.
I've tried removing the one from the RealNZ Paraparaumu/scenery folder with no ill effects.
That was the 2008 dated one.
as to the other problem, yes international settings are set to S & E hemisphere.
i will try renaming FS9.cfg & let sim rebuild.
Cheers,
Ross.

I have heard of this before, and thought that it was some sort of scenery issue. Did some google questions, and come up with a similar result. Try disabling sceneries one at a time, and you will likely find one of them is the issue:

Thanks AlisterC,
I've had this problem once before, a few years ago & if i remember rightly, it WAS a scenery issue, but i can't remember what!!!!
That time i did a complete re-install & that cured it.
I don't fancy doing that again!!!!
I'll have a go at removing some sceneries as you suggest & see what happens.
As usual, it'll no doubt turn out to be something simple being overlooked.
Thats what i love about flightsim - never a dull moment......
Thanks for the link too.
Off to have a read.
Cheers,
Ross.

Hi guys,
just a quick update for those who replied to my original post.
I checked all scenery areas & found i had a BGL file in my Static Objects Library duplicated in addon scenery/scenry.
when i removed this, all went back to normal.
I knew it was something simple!!!!
Thanks for the help guys,
Ross.

Hi AlisterC,
For reference, the file in question was RamplightLibrary.bgl
I know it was already in the Static Objects Library, but i don't remember installing it into addon scenery/scenery.
Best wishes & thanks,
Ross.
