You still haven't said whether it works better when you de-activate NZPP?
If so, I'm a bit stumped here, I'm not sure what would be the problem -- I've not come across that before.
What are your system specs? Have you moved your settings from the default 'bucket' settings which FSX worked out when you first ran it? If so, what have you changed?

From a quick look, I think that the file hosted on my site is the problem -- NZPP normally installs from an automatic installer, but this one is just a zipped scenery folder. I'll fix that, but for those who have installed this from my site, you should be able to fix it by installing the attached file NZPPmin.bgl (zipped for compatibility) in Scenery\World\Scenery.

The autoinstaller places this file in the correct place, so I'll upload it once I've checked it.

I'm sorry about that, at the time my brain was a bit fuzzy.

Let me know if this helps -- I may have forgotten something else...

That fixed it thanks!

What was the fix that you posted Robin? I'm wondering if I will need to release something similar for my scenerys as some people seem to be having similar problems

This only really applies when you change the elevation. FSX needs to read the airport elevation before it loads the mesh, so you need to put a copy of the 'AFCAD' (for want of a better word) in a folder which is read first -- such as Scenery\World\Scenery. FSX Planner does this for you -- you just select 'Create Airport Elevation BGL' when you compile. It creates a little facilities file which just includes the new elevation, and stores it in Scenery\World\Scenery. I think that the latest ADE can do this as well, but I'm not entirely sure. Otherwise you could just strip the normal facilities file down to the airport data only, and compile it separately.
This was similar in FS2004, but only the AI was affected -- it would start at the wrong elevation without the copy of the AFCAD in Scenery\World\Scenery. In FSX it messes up the elevation completely.

EDIT: Ok, it appears that ADE automatically saves this file when you change the elevation. Very simple.

I had thought that perhaps it was an issue with ADE/FSX planner because, from memory, I started using ADE for spring hill......

Hmm...the plot thickens. Naki, Ill get onto creating a stripped out springhill file to go into Scenery/world/Scenery for you to test.....that may explain why it works for me (i.e. I have the file since I compiled it on my machine, you probably don't since I didn't include the file in the beta)

Edit: Yep the file for spring hill is there.

Cheers for this Robin...I was scratching my head for a long time trying to figure what was causing it. Never stop learning with flightsim eh!
