The VATNZ Flight Club is back in New Zealand this week after spending a few weeks in the sunshine at New Caledonia.
This flight takes us out of the unvisited Taupo, leaving Taupo we fly around Lake Taupo in a clockwise direction. Performing a touch and go at Turangi we had north and follow the lakes to Hamilton. Leave Hamilton and fly over the city, then follow SH23 to Raglan.
If you want to join the flight club and haven't, this would be a perfect chance too as this will be a start to a new virtual VFR tour of New Zealand.
Departure Time: Thursday 2009 19:00 NZST
Flight Time: up to 90 Minutes
Route:
- Depart Taupo and head south clockwise around the lake. Touch and go at Turangi (NZTN).
- Leave Turangi and head north continuing to follow the lake. Continue heading north out to Lake Whakamaru and follow it north west past Wharepapa South to Lake Karapiro. Then proceed direct to Hamilton (NZHN) and perform a touch and go.
- From Hamilton follow SH23 from the city to Raglan (NZRA) and make a full stop landing.
Late-comers: Late-comers or pilots not wanting to come for the full flight can join us from Turangi at 19:20 or Tokoroa 19:50 NZST
