Flight Club - December 18th - New Plymouth to Raglan
This will be the last flight club for this year so don't miss out!
This week come join us while we leave rainy wet New Plymouth for the beautiful coastal town of Raglan. Even if you have no experience you can still join us and learn a few things or two on the way and most importantly have a fun time doing what us members enjoy most.
During this flight we will be leaving New Plymouth and heading roughly for around Mokau while passing the white cliffs, then heading on to Te Kuiti via the Awakino Gorge. At Te Kuiti we will be following railway and coast line again to get to our final location, Raglan.

Departure Time: Thursday December 18th 2008 19:00
Flight Time: 1.5 to 2.0 hrs
Route:
If you feel like you cannot follow specific landmarks to each waypoint just follow the pilot in the front of you.
Late-comers: Late-comers or people not wanting to fly the whole route can join us from Taumarunui 19:45 or Te Kuiti at around 20:00
Voice Channel: General pilot-to-pilot voice chat during this will be available on rw1.vatpac.org/vatnzflightclub.
(Use the Private Voice Chat in SB or the Company Frequency feature in FSInn to tune this server.)
For further enjoyment of this flight I recommend you have the following,
- Red Baron New Zealand Land Class
- Geographx 75m Mesh or 20m Mesh (payware)
- Roads and Rivers of New Zealand (payware)
If you have any further questions please reply to this thread or PM me,

Departure Time: Thursday December 18th 2008 19:00
Flight Time: 1.5 to 2.0 hrs
Route:
- Depart New Plymouth (NZNP) and leave the control zone to the north (Remember: report your intentions at unattended aerodromes at all times as it can get busy very quickly)
- Follow coast line to the white cliffs (excellent brewery there - world famous in taranaki)
- Follow Awakino Gorge or SH3 to Te Kuiti (NZTT), perform touch and go
- From Te Kuiti follow railway to the north to Te Kawa, then fly west to SH31 and fly to the Kawhia Harbour where we will orbit for a group screenshot (hopefully)
- From Kawhia follow the coast up to the Raglan beach and to Rangipu where you should be able to fly straight into Raglan (NZRA)
If you feel like you cannot follow specific landmarks to each waypoint just follow the pilot in the front of you.
