When using some mutliplayers, there`s no ATC. So ur free to takeoff, land, taxi and all that.

On VATSIM if tower is open, make sure your COM1 radio is tuned to his frequency, and you should get a response. ;)

Thanks for that, I have just loaded up at NZAA but nothing so I don't know exactly what is wrong or what I am doing wrong.
I am only using text and not voice but I'll get frustrated with it if I send a message and then get no response. Also I have been on about 6 times now and seen nothing flying around,is it better to fly in the UK or somewhere with more of a chance of someone else flying where you are?
Cheers

Can you confirm that NZAA_TWR is online? Are you connected fully with Squawkbox?

I am unsure whether you are trying to fly on Vatsim or the NZFF Multiplayer set-up that we have been discussing a lot as of late?

IF you are on Vatsim (you connected as per the instructions here) then, if you have any atc in range they will show on the right hand side of the squawkbox window in green. If there's nothing there then either there is no ATC on or you are not connected.

Check the Squawkbox messages, does it say you are logged in?

In this example there is Wellington Centre online, 123.70. You need to tune your Comm 1 Radio to 123.7 before you can communicate with the ATC, either voice or text.

If there's no ATC on you shoud tune to Unicom on 122.80. All other pilots in your area who are also on Unicom will see what you type, so you use that to announce your intentions.

Most evenings the NZ skies have planes flying, especially on Sat, Sun and Monday nights.
