I know that you guys like the old IFR ATC with jets, so here it is with a twist- strong north west winds mean that RWY29 at Christchurch will be open, so you can try the famous "Memorial Avenue" visual approach. And try a nice crosswind landing at Wellington :D

mmmm :P

I beleve thats called the "addington" visual approach ;)

Can we use a 737-300? I could always edit the aircraft cfg so it looks like defualt 738 to everyone else..

Sadly my fsx doesn't look good, even in a norwester, I can fly the visual approach two rwy 29 at sunset max autogen and real roads to follow in fs9, if I upgrade my system by then I will come otherwise I proably will fly your excact route in fs9 instead :)

I could provide NZCH_CTR if you require, every no and again I flying out of somewhere , or into and having a CTR then a twr is so so much mroe realistic than staying on one freuency for the whole approach and everything.. so if you want a CTR Im happy to offer my servervices :)

btw, this is the best "NOTAM" iv seen, nice one Tim

Its currently nor west at the moment, heres a current METAR and TAF..

NZCH 210000Z 35008KT 320V020 40KM FEW070 SCT200 19/02 Q1009 NOSIG RMK REP 2000FT WIND 300/39KTS

TAF NZCH 202221Z 210024 33015G25KT 40KM SCT050 BECMG 0709 28005KT BECMG 2123 06010KT

Useing this data you should be able to get the weather much more realistic.

Hope this helps :)

Jimmy, we dont have a _CTR as such, we use the tower position, however that position covers both _ARR and _DEP. So effectively the tower covers all airspace. :)

Anyway nice work Zolt! I had something similar in mind for my NOTAM, before I can up with the one for next week. :) :P

Could change thow, a change for the better? :) twr controlers don't have radars, so the tower controlers could forget about the scope and look out the window the whole time instead. Then you could really take advantage of the fsx virtual tower thingy. Then a Control could spend the whole time looking at the scope and not out the window at the same time.

I think you should really consider having a _CTR, its no more difficult for pilots, but adds so much to the realisum, youd be surprised. ;)

Anyway..... :)

Umm Tower Controllers in NZ definately do have radars... The only ones that dont have or dont use are Queenstown, Dunedin, and Hokitika... (Those are the ones I know of).

As for getting a _CTR you will have to mention it to Nik, Jon or Tim, as they normally sort the ATC positions out. I see you point, but we dont normally have enough aircraft for more than two ATC positions. :)

Jimmy......No.

You have been told a great many times now. I'm not going to repeat this over and over to you. When/if we do decide to run a Centre, there are a great many people who are far infront of you in the queue.

Great NOTAM Tim  . Should be good times all round

yes, you can use the ATIS frequencies for Christchurch (127.20) or Wellington (126.90), bearing in mind that the active runway will be RWY29 regardless of what the FSX ATIS says. ATIS will also be posted periodically in the FSX Chat box.

I thought you were only allowed to use repaints from flightsim.co.nz or the defaults :rules:
