AIRCRAFT

While the aircraft type is non negotiable for this flight due to the distances involved and the size of the runways at NZCI and NZNR, feel free to use any of the default FSX CRJ skins, or either of Zoltugers recent releases..

A few things about the Chathams, hold on let me get my map...here we go...

Lots of whale activity around at the moment, you might get lucky and spot them on approach or departure. Watch out for the no fly zone, some strange going-on's reported in this area, they lost an aircraft recently around here and the locals report beating drums and strange cries in the forest, they have searched on foot but can find nothing, maybe you'll have a better chance if you make your approach over this part of the island. Cruise ships seem to have taken a liking to the islands as well this year, so pay attention as the end of runway 05 is close to the water.

To see any of this you'll need to download a very small scenery file HERE. Unzip the FNF folder, copy the unzipped FNF folder in your Addon Scenery folder, activate this scenery as you would any other scenery area. This folder will then hold any future scenery files we release for Friday Night Flights.

Speaking of the approach, youll find the various navigation maps for the Chathams and Napier here:

Chatham Islands/Tuuta Charts
NDB RNAV RWY 05 & 23

Napier Charts
VOR/DME RWY 34 NDB RWY 34

Well thats about it, any questions post em here or PM myself or Nik. That Air Chathams CRJ will be available until the end of the week before its released properly in June.

See everyone Friday.

Looks like fun, I must ask thow, why no lear jet 45? It by far has the most superior model out of all the defualt aircraft.. the CRJ has realy messed up interios textures and prety unfunctional systems..

I like your map Jon

So is there actuly whales in the scenery?

Yeah........I just went for a short flight in the Chathams CRJ around the island........very cool!!!! Grabbed a few screenshots but I won't post them up till after the Friday night flight, as I don't want to spoil the surprise for those of you who would prefer to fly into this scenery on the night.

Both the new paint and scenery are awesome.......great job Jon

Yes, thar be whales.

No Learjet because of the numbers of people wanting to fly  , and more importantly we tend to do these convoys with consistent aircraft types, and because Zoltuger has some cool skins I havnt flown in, and because I did a CRJ skin not a Learjet.

Note everyone, the Chathams scenery is not based on what it really looks like, I have used artistic license, so much so I will have to apply for more as I used up all my quota

Heres the aircraft config information people will need to add the CRJ, I forgot to include it. Copy and paste into your CRJ_700 aircraft config file, then change the X to the next consecutive number

With increased length and upgraded landing gear, the CRJ700 features a longer wing span and leading edge slats. Like other members of the CRJ family, the CRJ700 features an electronic flight instrument system (EFIS) avionics suite and "glass cockpit"Â￾ instrumentation."

Hay Max just click on the links below the repaints to get them ( they are also on Avsim) Zolt has also done a Ansett one.

The pics below a post are called signatures you have to go into my profile and do one ( i.e. create it , put it on photobucket, and then add it)
