T'was the night before the airshow
And all through the hanger
Not an aircraft was stirring
Not even the Boeing 737-800.

OK, so I'm a pilot, not a poet. But all us pilots and spectators who are attending the Forum Field Anniversary Airshow are going to have to fly in, right?
So on Friday night we'll fly into Forum Field from where the last airshow was held in NZ (Omaka). The aircraft of choice will be the DC3 (either Jon's model or the default). After we arrive, you'll be free to change into your airshow aircraft for one last practice before the airshow Saturday night.

I think the more relaxed, group social interaction thing is the appeal Jimmy, plenty of scope for ATC on other servers and other Friday nights if people want that. Good luck with the practise, from what I saw last night it should be a great display.

Fridays flight will be very cool, cant wait to see the DC-3's over the Southern alps, now that will be a sight to see!

I shall fly the RNZAF bird, it will make a nice contrast to the others. I hope we see at least 1 NAC bird :)

it's part of the Forum Field airshow package. If you don't have it, don't sweat because I believe it's only in beta, and Jon will release the 4 pack of DC3's soon- you'll have to put up with the plain ol' default model

Scenery link:
IMPORTANT NOTE - This file is FREEWARE and is not intended for general public release beyond NZFF, as are any of the other files made available on the CD or peer to peer transfer. If David chooses to release the scenery at a later date then that is for him to decide, we appreciate your support and respect in this matter.

Dont forget that you could download the RNZAF skin for the deafult DC-3, it works for both the FS9 and FSX models, the 32bit texture works fine, or convert it to DXT5 if performance takes a hit (DXT5 compresses it to 1/4 the 32bit file size).

I confirm this does work in FSX, be sure to use the .cfg in the FS9 pack so I can see your aircraft :D

Here: http://z11.invisionfree.com/nzff/index. ... topic=3125
But you don't need the RNZAF skin to participate in the server, feel free to use the default textures.

No, it needs to be installed in the Default FSX model, the Airshow DC3 is the new model.

In your default DC-3 folder make a copy of the folder called texture, then rename it texture.RNZAF.

Copy the 32bit file (the one thats 4MB) into that folder and click yes when asked if you want to overwrite

Open the aircraft config file and add a new section for the skin, pointing it to texture.RNZAF.

PM me if this dont make sense. :)
