Hi Team - This week we have options.

Please read the following NOTAM details carefully, and then choose your Option for the evening.

Server Password: NZDN (case sensitive)

Option 1 (Even aged pilots) NZDN-NZNV-NZQN-NZDN

Server Date and Time - 7pm Friday 30th March 2007
Flight Type - Fixed wing point to point, dawn
Start Airport - NZDN - Spawn at gates
End Airport - NZDN - via full stop landing at NZNV and then NZQN
Aircraft Type - 737,CRJ700 (TRY ZOLTUGERS LATEST CRJ700 REPAINTS!!!!),Learjet 45 or King Air 350
Shared Cockpits - None scheduled (Feel free to add additional shaded cockpit aircraft)
Weather - Cold Fronts
ATC Roster - NZDN(Nik) 120.70, NZNV(Jimmy) 118.50, NZQN(Jon) 118.10.
Additional Details - Note both NZNV and NZQN don't have ILS approaches. It Might pay to print off the approach plates for these airports if you wish to make an instrument approach. NZDN will be excepting any of its Instrument approaches (including ILS approaches) and visual approaches if the weather permits.

If you select to fly a 737 be aware that NZNV and NZQN have very limited space on their apron. While 737's don't fly to NZNV often, they can do it (if theres a big event on in Invercargill etc). You may need to be patient and may be placed in a holding pattern until space on the ground opens up.

Option 2 (Odd aged pilots) NZQN-NZDN-NZNV-NZQN

Aircraft Type - Jet Ranger or R22. You must not select aircraft outside of this range
Shared Cockpits - None scheduled (Feel free to add additional shaded cockpit aircraft)
Weather - Cold Fronts
ATC Roster - NZQN(Jon) 118.10
Additional Details - This leg is exclusively for helicopters only. Fixed wing aircraft are not permitted to fly this leg.

although with the more complex aircraft (even jsut the defualt 73) I get half the frames as in a lighty, shoudl still be fun thow.

Can you specify airways to fly? I found last night it was quite strange being cleared "as filed" when atc didn't actuly have a clue were your going, or we could just give atc the route in the ifr clearance request.. with faster jets flying arund it might be a good idea to have a simple route for everyone to follow, just anothor idea to minimize confusion

Not big issue here Jimmy....everyone is filed according to the NOTAM. ATC know exactly where you are going in terms of where you are going to end up. If a pilot would like a specific airway then they can request it. If not we will use NAV aids and vectors to get them where they need to go. Using specific airways can confuse people more than help them, as can NAV aid instructions.

We'll tend not to specify specific airways just yet although you may request them just as you did last night. Also if the pilot is up to the task we'll hand out specific departures/approaches but this is more for the pilot concerned than anyone else(to give them a challenge) ....If they are unable to make an instrument departure/approach, we tend to find other ways around it...thats the joy of it being a sim......everyone is welcome no matter what level they are at

heh... you obviously dont get the Ops messages I do involving flights to NZQN being diverted to NZVN due WX

Well make the weather gentle, as we saw last night, FSX has lots to offer visually so why cover it with cloud and bad weather.

I'll be in invagargil tower. I would encourage everyone to get charts from the New Zealand AIP site. Especialy if your in a 738 as you might need to hold in the published holding patern on one of those charts

NZNVs apron is prety small, I'll try and arange you guys on the ground so we fit as many as possible... some poor buger wil have to park beside the fuel pump

Hi team.

Just a few quick notes.

Firstly, a big welcome to the ATC team for Jimmy....Jimmy has the tricky job of stacking, packing and racking you guys into Invercargill. Expect to be placed in a holding pattern (see Jimmys post above regarding charts).

Secondly, if you want to avoid delays......don't go with a 737. I will be delaying 737's on the ground at NZDN as required to decrease the strain on NZNV's tiny apron. The smaller aircraft should expect to depart with out delay.

Last.......but not least.........gutted that you won't be there Keagen.....Have one for me!!!

Depending on traffic at Dunedin be prepared for fairly tight control outbound from Queenstown and inbound from Invercargill.

could you please give an indication of which approaches and depatures you'll be running, so we can print off the correct plates from AIP?

Ok.........Heres Dunedins

Visual approaches and departures will be open to anyone, no matter what the weather is doing . This is to avoid printing out tones of paper!!!

Instrument Approaches and departures used at NZDN will depend on which runway is active so I have bunched these into Runway 03 and Runway 21.

If you want to be selective about what you print out, print out the 2 departure pages and these two approach plates : ILS or LLZ/DME or LLZ RWY 03 (Henley DME)
: ILS or LLZ/DME RWY 21 (Henley DME)

Its highly unlikey that I will ask anyone to make any of the other instrument approaches. So if you'd like a particular approach (for the active runway) then let me know early, well before you are near NZDN.

If Runway 03 is in use expect:
Visual departure Left or Right turnout (no plate required)
South two deparutre
East two departure (if we really need to hold things back abit)

Approaches to LAND on runway 03
Visual 03 (no plate required)
ILS or LLZ/DME or LLZ RWY 03 (Henley DME)
ILS or LLZ/DME or LLZ RWY 03 (Swampy DME)
Twin NDB/DME or Twin NDB RWY 03 (Swampy DME)

A few house keeping issues that I thought I'd bring up, just to remind everyone of the following guidelines which some people seem to be forgetting or misreading.

FLIGHT NUMBERS/CALLSIGNS/AIRCRAFT REGISTRATION
There are two options here.

Either:

You can use a "airline call sign' and a flight number eg New Zealand 724

Or:

You use your aircraft registration eg ZK-OJO
If you are using the aircraft registration make sure that the "airline call sign' reads "-none'

Some people have entered in their aircraft registraion and nothing for their flight number, this is fine (they will be called by their registration). However some people have done this but then identfied them self by a flight number that they did not enter.

The callsign information is to be entered in the aircraft details section when you select your aircraft....ATC has been excepting 'unentered' callsigns until now. Beaware that this will no longer be the case from this friday onwards....ATC will be calling you by the callsign that 'you set' in the aircraft details section as this is what appears on our scopes.

EMERGENCIES
No one is to file an emergency of any kind. Emergencies will not be acknowledged by ATC. If you have an emergency.......tough luck, we will not be moving and holding other traffic for you, nor will we attempt to place you number 1 on our priorties. Its not fair to other aircraft.

ADDON AIRCRAFT
You must only use the default aircraft on the NZFF server: add-on aircraft are not permitted. It's unfair on other pilots who are using Cessna 172's if you try to run an SR-71 at mach 4. In any event, most people won't have that aircraft installed, so won't be able to see your model anyway.
