  • Fly to Rotorua from any airport or fly from Rotorua to a destination of your choice - aircraft up to Boeing 737!
  • Stay local and fly VFR - remain in the circuit for some touch 'n go's or take a scenic flight over the lake and surrounding mountains
  • Water aircraft and helicopters welcome!

yes well I am being realistic here, if theres not loads of people online then im not going to say there is, im sure im not the only member disapointed with the traffic numbers around new zealand. I have recently moved to the Great britan IVAO division. But I still fly and control in new zealand, although with the minimal numbers online here I feal I may spend less time online in new zealand in the furture..

Alex came in for about 30minutes earllyer in the evening but had to go, he has been quite busy lately I beleve, so that is no problem, there was only traffic in NZRO for that 30mins anyway, I never saw anymore down there.

Interestingly Brian was flying over the tasman into akl, my only inbound aircraft all night.. that was okay, may have got more traffic if there was a NZZC_CTR, but I liked having an aircraft anyway, two hours into the event and me and brian were the only people online..

I will continue to support new zealand division events, I just wont look forward to them with as much anticipation. ;)

I think it's been said elsewhere, you guys need to join vatsim in NZ ;)
But, having said that, I still enjoyed departing out of Rotorua with atc from Alex. It's a shame the numbers aren't there, but then they are on vatsim. Might as well concentrate on where NZ is strong? Or, as you say James, keep a finger elsewhere on the pulse, like you are doing in UK. I prefer USA and NZ flying, so vatsim is the obvious choice really. If you and Alex weren't controlling in NZ for this special event, I would have been on vatsim for the evening. It's a simple numbers game in that case. Both networks are similar except for personalities and traffic numbers..

Why should the IVAO members have to go to vatsim? I am going to stay with IVAO, support new zealand online but also fly in britan were numbers are really very good. Why don't more vatsim memebrs come fly on ivao?

good on ya for comeing last night alister, and bringing your friend from vpa, you guys made up 40% of the traffic (even thow you flew away from my airspce hehe) :D

IVAO New Zealand has a great website, fourm, and released on saturday was the new sector file for IVAC. The pilot client is better on perforamce than SB3, its easy to use and has a very neat "ACARS" system. IMO IVAP is far better than SB3..

I would like to see some vatsim members come give IVAO a try, instead of them thinking we shoudl go over to them ;)

but this is just the IVAO/VATSIM argument, this is a thread to discus the event that took palce last night, good or bad.. :)

Dream, undoer, you're really not helping anyone with comments like that. IMO, VATNZ has Sunday established for themselves. In order to compete IVAONZ should choose a different night, and stick with that night.

Nothing I've posted above is untrue - all positions were confirmed - however for various reasons people weren't on, or had to go.
