MP Carrier Practice

It's handy being able to do carrier practice MP with yourself - if nothing else, it saves embarassment

Looking good, but I got stood on me nose because I hadn't adjusted the hook :o

and when I used Shift+P to back up, I finished up down here

Shift+P in French must mean 'Time-warp' - ou quelquechose comme ça  (et Merde!)

Nice shots! Maybe Shift+P in French means "Periscope depth"... that might explain why you dropped 40 feet

I thought 'plonger' meself - the CdeG does have working plane lifts, but I haven't got to that page yet  Need to land consistently, first :(

EDIT: I forgot to say thanks for your kind comment.

It is a lovely model - haven't been able to explore it fully, on account of the landing problem...
It would be great if we could get an FTX-style PeopleFlow thing for the deckies, though.

I think they have enough problems at times with animation even with MP just to keep the aircraft on deck.

Maybe the xml for the planelift gauge actually operates anywhere on the deck?

Wouldnt think so, but did you descend slowly like you would expect on a lift, or just drop through the deck like a stone?

I'm pretty busy at the mo with other projects, but would be nice to populate the deck with MP types , Greg Doug would be a couple , so with that four us with you running the carrier as well...... maybe John on the deck.

Well, having used the same tactic with nosed-over Rapides (etc), I expected to move backwards and then hit the brakes, once I had a bit of speed on.
Before I could even brake, the plane adopted a normal stance and disappeared through the deck into the hangar.
Don't know yet how fast/slow the lift is - that's on the page after  but that is all part of the fun.

If you have a network at home (two computers at least) I can send you stuff I have already done and tell you how to use it. You need to comfortable with editing simple text files, but I would send you mine as starters.

No problem there, as I just said to John. I will update the readme I sent to you and Nick, and can spread the word. We have already proved the autopiloted carrier, which lets everyone else fly, and if some evil-minded person decides to enter with a submarine and torpedo the carrier, well, so be it :arrr:

Very typical off the Japanese Long Lance Torpedo's ... very effect but also dangerous for the operator as well .
