Now I fully understand that when online you will see the same a/c you are flying if the person who is online is flying the same a/c ? (I think)
Explain why then when I was at NZAA the other day someone who was BA1 was flying concorde and I saw it as Concorde even though I do not have any Concordes in my menu ? Add to that someone else was doing flypasts in a Skyhawk (Jet) and I saw it as a
F-18 , again I do not have a Hornet in my a/c menu !?
I find that side of it all a little confusing, is it me, can you explain ?
Cheers
Nunner - Anyone flying today ?

Can you confirm that you were using default multiplayer, and not a network?

Is it possible that you have those aircraft installed but they are not showing on your menu? :)

Hi Alex,
I always fly on vatsim and no I don't have the a/c on my system. One thing I do well is working with files etc so I know what I have what I dont have.

Hi Ian

I was waiting for your reply to Alex as I have seen you on Vatsim.

The VATSIM software installs all the planes on your system whether you use SquawkBox or FS Inn. On Vatsim it's a low quality model that gives a representation of the plane, but takes up hardly any hard drive space.

The IVAO software gives you a model library installer that you can select what planes to install. The plane models are far superior to look at but they take up more room on your system. Alex will correct me if I'm wrong here!

So, in summary, if you fly on Vatsim or Ivao you will see whatever plane the other pilot is flying (yes there are whirly-birds too), as long as the other pilot has selected the plane correctly in his flight plan.

You *should* show as whatever you put in the aircraft box

You could scroll down to take a look at the "how modelsets work' part on this webapage it seems that the other person may have messed up their model set rather than yours being wrong.

I'll connect somewhere with you if you want to try some things :)

Spot on. ;)

So, with Squawkbox came a library of aircraft, they don't appear on the FS Aircraft list, becuase they are not flyable - as they are only meant to increase the realism, so you can see what the people around you are flying. :)
