I have what to many may seem a silly question but it's been bugging me.

I'm coming to grips with multiplayer so am trying to behave and learn the correct radio procedures etc.

I know from Crazy's guide what the radio calls are made up of, but how do I tell who to direct them too for typing in the chat box or if I was using Teamspeak?

As an example I did a flight from NZPM to NZDV then down to NZMS in the 500e.

When I announce my departure intentions I call PM Traffic . Who do I call for NZDV, NZMS? Is it Ohakea Control, Napier Traffic, CHCH Control?

I've seen the airspace markers on my map that give the various height layers do I find this other info there?

What I have been doing is directing the call at the "closest major airport name" traffic, Helicopter ...., direct approach from the South from 1300ft etc.

If you are talking about Multiplayer on the Inspire server, you don't call anyone in particular as there's no atc. Just let others know either via the chat box or teamspeak know what you are doing.

You can always type +fp then wherever you are going so others see it (eg +fp NZAA DCT NZHN A045 Cessna 172), then type -fp when you land.

If you are talking about who to call on Single Player, I don't use it but would suggest whoever it says is available on the screen that pops up

Yep was meaning on Inspire. I realise there's no ATC but I had heard people announcing intentions so wasn't sure if it was expected or not and how accurate I had to be.

It does add to the realism and lets others know where each other is especially like the other week when we had 18 online at once.

Having said that it is nice to just be able to fly with others informally.

So if I stick mostly to a general hey guys approaching xxxx or departing xxxx I shouldn't upset anyone.

ATC procedures are only really needed on IVAO and VATSIM.

You got it. If approaching somewhere with traffic (say coming in to land), you should see other aircraft labels once you reach 10nm of them.

I would then, in chat, type something like:

Attention NZTG traffic C172 10 nm out to land rw25 VFR.

or

HEY!!! GET OUT OF MY WAY , I'm a loose cannon and I don't care who I run over (if you're Crazy Craig... hehehe)
