FSX MULTIPLAYER NOTAM: FRIDAY 18 MAY

For everything about online flying around New Zealand

Seems likely to me like its IFR, (NZZO above FL240ish is Class A airspace ;) ), you could fly the NDB/DME approach - thats still an instrument approach. ;)

The longest journey i have ever done in a jet would be from auckland to wellington I was only on the computer for 20min then i went of and came back to land. I use x16 to get to christchurch even hamilton I find it borring whe nyou dont actually go places all you see is fake ground which is just flat.

The longest in a little thing would be 3 weeks ago on that friday night multiplayer.

So to trolly who thinks 3hr is short 20min is shorter

Jon posted links to some instrument approaches into NZCI. I'm sure you can do either VFR or IFR. No one will care by which rules you choose to fly this week

I always fly my flights in real time - if I think it'll take too long I just don't fly it.

I'm the same.

But if my comp wasn't good enough to produce a good looking picture, I'd slew also......but the scenery in FSX is so awesome........plus I like going over the checklists and approach plates etc...prepare for approach/landing etc. I don't really do any international flights . NZDN - NZAA in 737-800 would be my longest leg.

Fair enough, like a friend of mine once said - "The fun to flight simulator is the take-off, approach and landing. The only reason to fly long-haul is to get to places that are far away - and that is pointless in the sim."

I usually fly 1-2 hour flights. :)

haha time compresion

Unlike most of you I enjoy flying for three four or even ten hours, great fealing touching down after a couple of thousand miles, do feal like iv gone somewhere, actuly i'm about to head of for a 3 hour flight shortly :P

IMAO there no point doing a flight if you use time compresion, it kills all the realisum and makes the whole thing seem pointless.. and of course, slewing to your destination?!?!?! thats ridiclous!

Coudln't agree more, but it monitoring an aircraft, calculating ETAs and fual and stuff during a 5 hour cruise is also fun :D

I agree with you there Alex, or rather Jennifer ;)
