NZFF Airshow?

For everything about online flying around New Zealand

Postby Peppermint » Thu Sep 04, 2008 3:39 pm

I'd be interested...airshows don't have to have just fighter jets, classic aircraft and aerobatics do they? What about a heavy flying in low....RNZAF 757 display anyway? Maybe with something a bit bigger? I'd be interested either way.

Airshow - Ohakea 08 - 20th September - FSX only

Information found HERE

Good chance to see how ARNZX will be running the show, perhaps for some ideas for the next NZFF smile.gif This show is by the makers of the original NZFF airshow (the idea behind this topic).
You need to PM member 'ARNZ' to get the display spectator model for the show, it will be a great line up and featuring the Virtual Red Checkers!! So yeah if you just want to watch or get ideas then feel free to come along to a spectacular show! thumbup1.gif

Yeah thats great to see us all getting on again and the forums advertising/pluging on each others forums .. the airshow will be sweet whoevers idea and whoever works on it ,,it is a team effort no matter and its the people here on the forum that actually make these things happen in the end ... it would be ashame just having two people turn up ...

getting back on topic how are we going for a venue for NZFF airshow para would be cool id be more than happy setting up scenery for this event in FSX ,would need some help for those still using fs9 but if worst case ill install 9 again and make some temp scenery for those needing it just wont look as flash ...

there are some cool fsx fs9 aircraft that could be used and seeing its more about being part of the event happening than what we all see sometimes while doing it maybe we just use what we want because of the difference of the two sims and the aircraft that each has available to the user ?

Yep, I was right...it's a TROLL!
Haven't seen one of those in a while, NZFF tends to be a lot more civilised than that...

he's elaborating to the fact that there seems to be a certain advertising campaign being waged here at the moment which will invariably result in a cat fight.

Charl's just alluding to the fact that you're wearing an ARNZX cap, and also waving the ARNZX flag. I don't personally have an issue with it, but I can see what he's getting at. smile.gif

I'm sure the mod(s) will do their thing (politely!) winkyy.gif

As a matter of interest - what's the general ruling on signatures? I've just added one of my own to see what one would look like (I couldn't be bothered, normally). Or is the issue not so much the signatures themselves as using posts with minimal content as blatant plugs for something or other?

For instance - is my (newly created) shameless plug for my "day job" OK? Genuine question!

We don't have a ruling on signatures, only thing applicable there is that I (we?) don't like them to be too large (vertically). I'd prefer my mouse's scrollwheel to last a few more years. laugh.gif

As for plugs, well, there have been a couple of times where it's obvious that people have signed up solely just to start blatant advertising for their flyin/VA/group/whatever, when that happened we've mostly had a wee chat to the guys concerned (which Robin has summed up well here winkyy.gif).

I've always hated them. Text is OK, but large images can slow down long pages terribly - particularly for those people on slow Internet connections (ie. The whole of NZ laugh.gif).

If I were Prime Minister, I'd restrict signature images to 24px * 2px laugh.gif

You can actually turn them off, which can be helpful sometimes. smile.gif

Go to My Controls > Board Settings and then there's an option "Do you wish to view members signatures when reading topics?", you can select No. wink.gif

As Alex and Charl have said, the bottom line is that we don't want any trolling on NZFF.

I think Charl's thread (linked by Alex) is as clear as mud. We don't need this, and as Charl said above; "NZFF tends to be a lot more civilised than that..."

Now that we're done with that, as creator2003 said, lets try to get this thread back on topic winkyy.gif

Do we have any suggestions for venues, servers, or aircraft for this proposed Airshow?

Hi all.
Great idea and count me in. My only request, if I amay make one, is can you make time of the show civilised and suitable for those of us ( ME ) who have family and small children and only available in mid afternoon and then from 7.30 till late.
Should be able to make an appearance at some time though.
Will have to get out a suitable plane and put the heavies away.
Cheers, Adrian.
