I have added another post in this forum with a link to Ryan's Creek aerodrome files for FSX. You may want it for Friday, in case you've some trampers that need dropping off. It was a quick build, but then it's only a simple airstrip with just a shed and a runway.

Ryan's Creek (NZRC) is a small strip above Halfmoon Bay on Stewart Island, providing an important air link to the island. I've actually flown into Ryan's Creek in a Southern Air Norman Islander (now operated by Stewart Island Flights). My wife and I were on a tramping trip. We spent a few days tramping out to windswept and rugged Mason Bay (including a rather exciting negotiation of the interestingly named Chocolate Swamp). A beautiful part of the country.

By the way, I see the Stewart Island Flights website has a gallery with a picture of both the Norman Islander, and Mason Bay.

Super!!! Thanks Dave.......Due to this, we'll now add a full stop landing at Ryan's Creek. So make sure you have this scenery installed.

Heres a quick map of the recommended routes.

ATC will type in ATIS for NZDN, note NZNV does not have an ATIS. So you will have to obtain infromation from the controller directly.

Navigation Frequencies
LX = Alexandra DME - 117.10 MHz
LX = Alexandra NDB - 386.0 kHz
SW = Swampy VOR/DME - 112.70 MHz
MI = Mosgiel NDB - 358.0 kHz
HL = Henley DME - 115.70 MHz
HL = Henley NDB - 378.0 kHz
BE = Berridale NDB - 378.0 kHz
NV = Invercargill VOR/DME - 116.8 MHz

ILS (Instrument landing system) Frequencies
Dunedin runway 03 - 110.30 MHz. Heading 031
Dunedin runway 21 - 109.90 MHZ. Heading 211

There will be the option of Instrument approaches into Invercargill. Depending on the runway in use, VOR/DME or just VOR approaches will be in use. Of course you can still go visual if you want :)

that reminds me, better outline whats open at NZDN. I'll do my best to accept any instrument approach if it complies with the active runway. Departures that may be used are as follows

Runway 03
-SWAMPY THREE Departure
-SOUTH TWO Departure

Runway 21
-BERRIDALE THREE BRAVO Departure
-NORTH FOUR Departure
-HENLEY THREE Departure

All of these Insturment departures/approaches can be found at the AIP site

Dunedin

Invercargill

If runway 21 is in use at NZDN and if you feel up to the task your welcome to have ago at ILS approach for 03, circle to land 21. This would work well coming up from NZNV.....read the approach plate carefully......note the circling lights. :thumbup:

actually the rule is that you use default aircraft unless specified otherwise
you can use any repaint you like for the default aircraft, but it's a bit pointless because only you'll be able to see it.

If that was the rule then that is not fair(repaint) i noticed people that (i think) were in the world tour of nz have different repaints that i can't get too :( I can usually only see myself. Oh well life goes on. Not the end of the world. I was going to use my own repaint on firs FNF but couldn't get it working.

Further to David Hall's Ryan Creek I also recommend downloading Ian Warrens Photo Real Dunedin landclass (for FS9 but works well in FSX)......I live in Dunedin and know the area well........this scenery is very, very accurate......I would provide a link.......but I can't find one :( . Ian if your out there could you post the link?

Is that file download working? When I look at the page it shows that the file has been downloaded once, and I think that was me. Maybe nobody wants Ryans Creek?

Can someone let me know if they've successfully downloaded the file. I've never used that site to upload files before.

Ill give it a go tomorrow...Im NV ATC so dont really need it, but then again it would be random to see you all dissapearing into the 'land' on Stewart Is without an airport on my radar :P
