Operation 'Deep Freeze'

For everything about online flying around New Zealand

There are some Tanker mods available for FS2004 but I am not sure how effective they are and if they really pump fuel into your tanks. You can count on me taking an F-16 down there when FighterOps finally is released :plane: . Yesterday I did a long flight(3 hours in F4AF) which required 1 refuelling. It can be quite interesting if your AI wingman is having problems hooking up(No3, No2 hooked up np). The other problem is modelling a TACAN broadcast from a tanker so you can find it otherwise you have to use A/A radar.

Only one week to go, if you are flying with us, make sure you email our Special Ops guy, addresses and stuff at the bottom of the info page, just so we know the numbers. ;)

Unfortunately.. I've been rostered on at Flight Experience... :( So I've had to email and pull out. Sounds like it'll be huge with all those people signed up! I'm gutted I'll miss it..

Just for my own peace of mind can we just confirm that the start time is 0700, this Sunday 26th of November for the Kiwis?

Hi All,

I've just downloaded an Antarctica mesh for realistic coastline etc....installed that to give it a go, and when the aircraft is sitting on the runway, if I switch to outside view the aircraft is under water & the tail is just above the runway surface. Also there's not apron or anything for parking so how are we all going to park up and leave the runway free for the rest of the group to land?

I know this topic was previously raised, but there doesn't appear to be any scenery except the Star Mar Ice Base 2005 scenery, and I don't think that's a scenery that has been specified to use?

Yes I have the same problem as you chris. Try useing the rwy in the 150 degree direction (im not sure what number it is actuly called) that has a place to park beside it and theres no sinking.

Only one more day to wait :P

Yep, most probably the active will be runway 15/33 which in FS default is about 95% over land. ;)
Just vacate the runway, even if there was an apron quite a few people might/will have trouble stopping completely, see the 'Landing at McMurdo' thread in the FS Videos forum to see what I mean.
