NZFF Video Contest

A forum to share your FS video clips and movies

Postby ardypilot » Fri Aug 31, 2007 10:09 pm

We have had a monthly screenshot competition running successfully for over a year, so why not have a video competition here at NZFF?

Welcome to the first monthly video contest here at the New Zealand Flightsim Forums- this is a bit of a "dummy run' to see how things go, as we realize creating a video entry takes a considerable amount time and effort compared to a mere still screenshot image. If it is succesfull, we will run it again and add prizes, but for the time being, we will have the winner featured on Sim Pilot Magazine, giving your work world wide exposure to thousands of readers all over the globe!

The rules are fairly simple:

1) Keep your videos short and sweet, this should reduce creation time and watching time for other members when judging.

2) Your footage must be from a Flight Simulator program (FS2004, FSX, X-Plane, etc), and the location of the recording must be somewhere over New Zealand territory.

3) Your video must be uploaded to youtube.com, and linked in this thread via the special video BBCODE Tags. This is written as:
Code: Select all
[video]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mbVewAVsoME[/video]

4) The theme of your video must incorporate 'low level flying', an opportunity to show off your skills perhaps...

5) Your video must include credits, listing all the addons that were featured, plus give www.NZFF.org and www.simpilotnet.com a mention.

6) Videos can be submitted from August 31st to September 30th 2007, with only one entry per member. You can change your submission if you want, just delete the old one and replace it with a new one.

7) On September 30th, a poll will open and run for a few days to decide who has the best video, then the winner will be announced both here on the forums on on Sim Pilot Magazine.

I'm sure there is lots of talent out there who can amaze us with your entries. All the best to everyone!

Anybody else got anything ,i persomally would love to see this become one of the comps each month or two ,it is a great way of showing the true way fs runs to alot of viewers in a really short period of time ,have a look around the pinned topics to find out more on how and what you will need to make one yourselfs ,FS video Basics you all have the editing software you need right in your op system "windowsmoviemaker "
anyway guys be sure to put some thing in so we can have this great little comp ,and also get to see NZ in a different way on the forums ..

I just haven't had the time to spare to do FS and Video stuff (sold my old Honda and got a Kawasaki GPZ750R - been joyriding all over the BOP on it biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif). I'll get something together by the end of the month ... hopefully.

I've got some time off school so I thought I'd knock together a vid myself:

It's my first video ever, so it is no where near the sort of quality of others, but I just thought I'd give it a go for the fun of it smile.gif

Awesome video Alex- I had no idea you were a FSX user! That photoreal looks stunning, and the classical music goes surprisingly well with the aviation theme clapping.gif

What editing software do you use by the way? It looks very pro.
