For this evenings adventure I was back at EGOD but this time with a nicer weather preset, for my first look at the Vertigo by GotGravel available free on the flightsim.to website. I'd heard things about this plane. Oh lordy, they were all true.
The first thing I'd heard was don't use more than 25% power for takeoff. I used about 15% and took off using about half the runway, stormed around the loop at up to 350 kts, then for a laugh I pulled back on the stick and in 30 seconds put on about 6,000' without appreciably slowing down. An extremely short tour later (odd, it was quite a long cruise in the PC6) I put the nose down. The Vertigo descends almost as fast as it climbs so I probably could have maintained 6,000' until turning final with no problems, and after a space shuttle approach floated onto the runway at EGCK Caernarfon. Highly recommended, will fly again.
