Posted: Thu Nov 23, 2006 5:38 pmWell yes when he did touch down it wasnt bad at all it was just that short approach that we saw he was all over the placealthough it appeard he may have touched down slightly early
Posted: Thu Nov 23, 2006 6:10 pmHe appeared all over the place because of the way he had to land. The wind was strong so he had to point his nose into the wind quite a bit to stay on the runway. Just before touchdown he kicked his rudder so he landed straight.

I loved the JATO takeoff the C130 did, or was that RATO?
You sure have to trust your ASI and the thrust pack - run out of either there isn't an awful lot of airspace to nose over and recover.
