definately is active. HR has been offline for a week or two which may be why you havent had an email back from him. Also, the site has been in a redesign phase for some time which may be why some of the links are broken, but I dont know what the ETA is on the new site sorry. The broken links are unfortunate but the actual behind the scenes operational areas that you need to login to get access to are fully operational and updated.
At most times of the day there is typically at least one, and some times as many as 4 or 5 flights in progress, depends on the time of day really (a flight from NZWN to NZGS is in progress as I type). The forums arent that busy but there is always help there from the more experienced guys when you need it.
You'll probably get replies from others who are resident here at nzff.org as well as being vANZ pilots, there are quite a few familiar handles in both places. Some pilots fly offline most of the time, acruing hours towards increasing their rank and moving up to bigger aircraft and routes. Some do fly online through VATSIM, of which vANZ is a
virtual airline partner. There's no real pressure to fly online, but having just started to dip my toe in the water I can reccomend it, adds a whole new dimension to simming.
