Mike, aka natas2003, has built a cool little scenery addon exclusively for NZFF members!

It includes a fictitious NZFF clubhouse at NZOX, (Okiwi Station on Great Barrier Island), a few hangers, a helipad and a jetty for seaplanes.

The idea was to create a virtual community meeting point, perhaps a good place to start/end online flights or chase GNZLAP AI from. It is nothing too glamorous, we purposely kept things simple just like a real aero club might have done if building a base.

If you would like to join the NZFF Aero Club, download the scenery here, and then post a membership request in reply to this thread, and you will receive a special badge for your signature!

The zip file is only 400kb, and includes variations for both 75m and 20m mesh users as well as a detailed readme. It works with both default and the GNZLAP afcad files too.

Fun idea, let's see if anyone's around this time of a Sunday morn?
Nope, too early for most, time to get the percolator going then...

Thanks all so far for joining up!

Your new signatures have been PM'ed to you!

Look in the Multiplayer forum for upcoming Aero Club online fly-ins, and future NZOX updates in the scenery forum :D

BTW Chris D. the link has been fixed, thanks for notifying me of the issue.

Good work,I can just take off in my new C206(FS.com hot files) with 6 pax and 50% fuel and 10degrees flaps.
Out of interest I remember Waikato Aero Club had a lodge at Claris which is marked in white on google earth, even if it is covered in cloud!. However no Okiwi Station or the Airfield marked Gt Barrier in FS.
Could someone enlighten me on what is what these days on 'The Barrier'. is there 3 airstrips or is there 2 names for the same thing?
It would be great to have a South Island equivilent at some obscure Fiord right down south. I do love those strips were you can taxi off the end of the runway into water if you want to -in an amphibian of course!
Flying from 'The Barrier to some tucked away miles from nowhere place down here could be fun. If some don't have the time they could take a light a/c to Auckland and a 737 to Qtown and another light a/c to the destination.
I would build it myslf but I have not the EZ scenery software or the skills.
When you have bought the RBE 20m & topo like I have I do tend to do alot of flying in the Fiordland area as I find you really get your money's worth.
I go for a fly now and start at NZOX. As usual the weather is rainy and cloudy and the weather down here is lovely. The good thing is I quite like flying in bad weather in FS. It is a beautiful day outside and I have the curtains drawn whie I fly around the Hauraki Gulf in real weather!

As there has been such a big interest in the Aero Club, I have created it's own forum which you can view here: http://z11.invisionfree.com/nzff/index.php?showforum=28

I will be un-pinning this topic so you guys can discuss anything Aero Club related in the new forum, please re-list your names in the pinned topic at the top. (Sorry for the double post request)
