I have just down loaded this programme and now need some basic help on how to use it. I have managed to laod some SIS's and STAR's from scratch for NZAA. When do I load the flight plan or does it get it from my FS9 plan. Also, do I have to load the STAR's at the begining, or can I access them during the flight when I know what runway I am gouing to use and then load them. More question are sure to come as I get to use this programme. Thanks.

First of all, what version are you using? V1.10, or the new 2.0a5?

Hi,

You have to type in the flight plan into the program yourself. Say you're flying NZWN - NZAA. (Not sure if you know about flight routes but the Wellington-Auckland goes via the airway "WN vor, H277, and AA vor")
So you would type into the blank space "NZWN WN H277 AA NZAA" press Add, select the current runways, and the flight plan should appear in the space above.

You can enter SID's and STAR's at any time. So after you enter the route, click on the airport you are flying out of and click the "SID" button. Unless you have you have a current AIRIC cycle version (payware) installed, there may not be any (or any up to date.) Select the appropriate one and press OK. The way points of the SID will be added in order, below the airport entry.

Oh and after you program the FMC, you want to delete the airport's (your flying out of) VOR from the list. Otherwise after takeoff, it will tell you to turn around, and will fly you over the airport's VOR, and then continue on your course.

Add STAR's the same way, as you approach your destination (or whenever), but instead, select your destination airport on in list and select STAR.

I have tried to laod a flight plan NZWN to NZAA. All ok untill I get to put in the STAR
The STAR I an loading is NOBAR ONE DELTA for NZAA. I built this inthe SID/STAR maker and all seemed to go fine. I got the positions off of the approach STAR plate.
At the time I noticed that the LAT and LONG I was writing was not as long as the numbers given automatically by the system. When I loaded the STAR the track went SOUTH from NZWN. When I deleted the point NODAR the flight plan came right. When I write the waypoints off of the charts do I need to alter or add to the LAT / LONG some additional numbers so they work.
Co ordinates for NOBAR off of plate is , S37 26 38 E175 45 26. These loaded in the SID / STAR maker without spaces between the numbers the position sent me south from NZWN. Need some help please otherwise will get lost. Thanks.
