I see it written in the official descriptions as Woodburne.
People often write Woodbourne.
Are there any of Scots descent out there who could explain the difference between the two ??

my AIP tells me its Woodbourne... I would suggest the difference is perhaps only in pronunciation... burne would be like 'wood-burn'... whereas bourne is 'wood-born'

Hmm I've only ever seen Woodbourne as printed on the AIP...

According to Google, the only place named Woodburne in New Zealand is in the North Island; but plenty of results for Woodbourne in Marlborough.

Define "official", you're lucky you got a version with an "e".

Too right that is correct spelling - I go to work there every day !!
Despite the spelling as per above we all pronounce it 'burn' not 'born'
I guess this is why so many people mis-spell the word.

'Woody valley' is what it is affectionately known as in the Air Force
