Hey there fellow simmers

Hey i have a few questions for the commercial simmers out there, just recently got the PMDG 747 and wondering about flight planning with the way of using the FMC.
So i know how to use it and all and how to put a flight in but i need some help with building a flight plan, i use a website called (RouteFinder) and it has a free section where you i type in a departure and destination and "Walla" it gives me a flight plan but 9/10 i put in a certon waypoint and my fmc tells me that the input was invalid or doesnt exsist, and i've installed the latest cycle so im not to ure where to go from here, and if i do get it right i end up chooseing the wrong STAR and i end up coming in for approch WAY TO HIGH!!! is there anyother websites some of you use that i can master? or do i need to buy a flightplanning addon? was looking at FSBUILD but at $50NZD its a risky buy the only thing that attracts me to this that it will give you the best SID and STAR to use for the flight you are building.

Your advice would be awsome guys

Try Vroute. A freeware program that can accept the same nav data cycle as you would use with PMDG. Great program.

Yep, I second VRoute - never failed on me yet.

http://www.vroute.net/

Only problem is, if you're looking for a route that isn't in the database.

To purchase the latest AIRAC cycle for it, go to the navigraph site, and under the same section that you downloaded the PMDG 747 data from will be one for VRoute. Just download that, and install it; that's it!
