Moving into the 21st Century

I've held out on buying MSFS because of my quaint rural copper phone line.
This gave, on a good day, an internet download speed of some 5 Mb/s.
But after decades (literally) of badgering, there is fibre at the door:

I suspect that may do for the new sim, how long would that take to download/install, then?

And VR I believe is ever nearer. It'll be a big step from FS2004, but I am brave.

Blimey!
Super speeds in NZ!!.... .... ....!

My Fibre Network Provider (TalkTalk) in England =

34.7 Mb/s Download. (OK for browsing/watching/streaming stuff on YouTube).

6.1 Mb/s Upload. (Takes hours to upload my motorcycle videos to YouTube).

Cost £22.95 Per Mumf!

Time to move to NZ??... ...!

Paul... :uk: ...!

I was hoping to hear from foreign soils to compare, thanks Paul.
I think my new fibre plan is about NZ$85, say £44.
And no data cap, so I'm fairly happy with that.

Hell Charl... ...!

My options and prices..>>>

https://www.talktalk.co.uk/shop/?portal ... lsrc=aw.ds

I went for faster Fibre at £22.95 with no data caps.
Cheapest, and OK for browsing, streaming and Downloading.
..but slow, very slow, for Uploading my videos to YouTube.
Faster Uploading stuff would be the only reason for me to change my contract to a more expensive one!
I hate the option; "More Expensive".... ...LOL...!

Take care, all... :D ...!

Considering you can run MSFS all-out at 50Mbps, you should be fine:)
I only manage 100Mbps, and my upload is 20. Still, I'm not complaining. It took me about 3 hours to download MSFS.
Welcome to the 21st!

Thank you! Good information.
I have Zoom CTD every session, so need to spend some time on that before the luxury of MSFS... <_<

Gents you are wholly out of touch: even at 5Mb/s download and 512kb/s upload, the possible spend rate exceeds all possible income by a margin of 10:1 :)

OK for flight sims, and DOWNLOADING stuff at my 36Mb/s, but my biggest problem is my 6.1 Mb/s UPLOAD speed when it comes to uploading my video files to YouTube! It takes forever to process!.... :( ...!
I generally watch the grass growing outside during the upload...
...the grass is quicker.

It would be a similar problem uploading "our" edited Flight Sim Videos to YouTube?
