The price over here in the land of the Angles and Saxons...

Amazon.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Microsoft-Flig ... r=8-5&th=1

..£65....

But first read all the reviews/comments by the installers/users!
They are not a happy bunch!
...and will it work on my trusty Windows 8.1, Intel i7 Gaming Tower computer?

Holding off at the moment, while I use my FSX Sim...which works fine!

Paul... :wink2: ...!

The time it takes you to wait for the DVDs to be delivered you may as well use that time to download it?

Not everybody has access to enough internet to download 90gb of data. There's no way in hell I could download that sim here.

Agree with what everyone else has said.

Will also add.

"Why" - because Microsoft has chosen the European Company "Aerosoft" as its retail licensing publishing and distribution partner for the new Microsoft Flight Simulator. Remember that Asobo Studio's is the Developer behind Microsoft Flight Simulator and it's also a European based Company.

It's been a Microsoft decision to grant the DVD box set version DRM Licensing and Distribution rights to the European Company "Aerosoft".

For the time being the Microsoft Flight Simulator DVD 10 disc box set is a European exclusive product — as it's a hefty download for Europeans on metered or limited data connections, so the 10 double-layer DVD’s Boxed set, will let them get most of the game's content without stressing their download limits.

However as you're an Israeli living in Israel, "offering a digital download to America". This should not be too much of a worrying concern for yourself unless, if you're actually living in America.

You should still be able to buy DVD Boxed set version direct from "Aerosoft" or on Amazon UK and if you really want to, you can get the physical DVD Box set shipped out and imported into Israel.

Note that this will likely cost you more in the long term, in terms of both $$$ and time ie; longer than the 4 hours or so, it takes to download. This will be the price that you pay for, that's if you really don't want to spend 4 hours or so downloading the Digital version.

Aerosoft Microsoft Flight Simulator Store

If you decide to purchase the DVD Box set, please note that "Aerosoft" have stated that the DVD will always have to be in the drive on launch to verify that you have a licensed copy.

Also note that most modern pre-built gaming PC's these days do not have DVD Drive's as they're becoming a thing of the past, outdated and out of fashion with the Global majority of users, obtaining software through the IT Cloud services these days via "Digital Rights Management." DRM. It's just another reason why DVD Box sets are becoming an outdated in the newer modern IT Digital Downloading World.

Most people will eventually need to accept and change with the times, as hard as it may be, it's no longer the days of physically visiting a "bricks and mortar" retail outlet store and purchasing a physical PC Gaming DVD Disc's like a DVD box set over the store checkout counter. Everything has moved on, to the online world of software store front gaming and streaming platform purchase and downloading as it's more a cost efficient way to publish and get out to mass market.

In these times, it's also more expensive to physically produce and distribute a physical DVD version box set to market.

It's also why the their is going to be 2 types of next generation Sony PS 5's available soon to be release on the Play Station market a Digital version and one that has the older Blu-Ray Disc style version so that people can still use their older backwards compatible PS4 Disc based games.

Considering all the map data is streamed for MSFS2020, and that is the lure of the sim, if the 90GB download is an issue you're going to have problems further down the line.
