Am not sure if this is the category to post this, but I am looking at adding an AI Traffic program to my Prepare3Dv4...........
Can anyone shed any light on the Just Flights 'Traffic Global (early access) which s being promoted at present.
Would be keen to know some results before making a decision on either Ultimate Traffice Live or My Traffic 360!
Any thoughts please.........
Cheers

I wish I could mate ...but again, your questions are on a much higher sim level, than the one I live on.
Good luck ....

Thanks Splitpin.
I was only asking if someone had purchased and was using the specific AI Traffic programme and if so, what did they think of it????
With some 15 posts on the forum tonight, I am somewhat surprised at you comment 'your questions are on a much higher sim level, than the one I live on'!!!!!
My knowledge is far below that of many others on the forum, and that's why I ask so many questions...........
Thank god for the forum.

Ultimate Traffic used to be goodwhen I used it, that was many years ago though. When I used FSX recently, I only used Orbx’s traffic

I use MyTraffic 6.0 without problems in P3D V4.3. Hints to install it you can find here: http://www.prepar3d.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=122412 or https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/5119 ... ml-method/

I use to use Ultimate traffic in flight simulator X, it was good and the first time I used payware AI traffic. Now I just use the free one from Orbx, I would like to try and find one that has better engine sounds though.

I used to run Ultimate Traffic many moons ago. It was good - but hardly ever got updated (and you had to pay for the new schedules).

What parts of the world do you mainly "fly" in?

ORBX has a couple of excellent (free) AI traffic add-ons: one for Oceania and one for N.America. As 99% of all my flights are over AU/NZ I'm quite happy with the free offering.

I used to use UT to generate my own local traffic, using models of add-on aircraft I owned, but using high-resolution models/textures for AI can severely impact performance, so I gave up. I see the new JF offering also has that capability (I think).

For a while I also used the free WOAI but quickly got bored with it, as I found it quite laborious.

I've not used MyTraffic, but every time I research it, all I see are loads of problems/bug reports.

Adam.

I've just installed my old MyTraffic 6A into P3D4 and it works without a hitch. I think it's easy to get the wrong impression about problems online because the vast majority of people who don't have problems don't post anything. Whatever software you research, you'll only find people who have problems with it.

Having said that, I wouldn't say I'm a huge fan. The AI planes seem too bright, - they look like toys and don't seem to blend well into the rest of the scenery. They throw shadows onto the ground but need more contrast, e.g. underneath the fuselage and wings. Better than no traffic though, in a payware airport that doesn't have static aircraft.

I recently bough FlyTampa's Schipol Airport, Amsterdam, which is a case in point, - no static aircraft. It seemed ridiculous pottering around such a huge airport in my Piper Cherokee with no other planes, so that's why I installed MyTraffic. I used to have problems with it in FSX but now it seems fine. I use OrbX's TrueEarth Netherlands, so with Schipol and MyTraffic, it all looks pretty darn good so long as I think of it as a slide show rather than a simulation as such. Need to upgrade my CPU/MB/RAM in the New Year.

These days, most of my simming is in Europe, - I have about a hundred UK airfields/airports thanks to UK2000 (they have a great sale on till the end of the year) but when I get back to NZ flying, I'll probably use OrbX's freeware traffic.

A word of warning, - while researching traffic I discovered that the person who was developing Just Flight's Traffic Global has completely stopped work on it and it's ground to a halt. It looks like it won't be supported into the future and it seems to have quite a lot of bugs that haven't been addressed.
