New Zealand Scenery design history
Actually quite amazing how far scenery design in New Zealand has come, Phillip Middlemiss of Christchurch started a base, this is now dated back to July 1996, he had created a mesh that made New Zealand look the part.
Back then Laptops were huge and still with a silly little 14" screen .. we all had those back then, his scenery Mesh was able to fit onto two floppy's .. a whooping Great 1.44MB off information , funny thing even twenty years ago it was a required luggage piece .. so I guess a Wife had to start getting use to this.
I phoned Phil in 1997, plan was to build scenery .. Funny internet was there but only for the rich and famous or one with dads credit card
, Heard that fracow on a phone with a lost and gone NZFF member .. , the 1998 Wanaka Airshow , my oldest Bro Allan popped in from Australia, grabbed me by the ear .. YOUR GOING TO ...
I did not complain , what the hell .. it was a regular ... that show Microsoft had a FS display going FS-98
.. had the fun parts were I helped setup the ... The setup .. No one seemed to know how set it up.
You did get a few dufess's .. One in particular show-boater, jumped in yelling you can get every thing off the Internet , CRIPES ! this guy either had the golden spoon ... or simply a Spoon head ... I still remember when Al looked at me and said "What a FU'N DORK" when airshow top brass walked pass .. that was so funny , also this guy had no NO to setting FS98 up ...
.... wonder If he is on these forums ... love to go
So we have Phillip Middlemiss , next person late 1998 , when I started my first Wigram build mid/late or around that time I was restricted to 25 hr a month for the internet on the plan back then saw Clive Ryan's Palmerston North Scenery , It was finally released in 2000 but again at a whooping Great Size: 1,992,222KB .. again I got it on floopy's
.. crikey ... almost the Two Can and Piece off String Telephone System (TCPSTS) system to the un-educated
.... A little History
