Off to Queenstown tomorrow for Easter. The highlight will be the Wanaka airshow. Not sure which day we will go but will buy tickets on the day.
Last time there was 4 years ago. We hired a camper and had a very pleasant drive down from Christchurch and stayed at the Lake Hawea camp ground. The camper was great and being Maui we had preferential parking one as Tim Wallis had a share in the company as well as owning most of the warbirds. Parking was right on the flightline and it was great....just back it up to the ropes and we had an unobstructed view of the flightline/runway. Really good to go back for a cuppa and a lie down during the course of the day. Unfortunately every campervan in Christchurch and Queenstown is booked out so it is to be more traditional forms of accommodation and transport this year.
Looking forward to a great airshow day and a relaxing few days around it.
I just wish the talented and gorgeous Svetlana Kapanina was their to drool over watch :)

Yeah, even thinking about it tires me out. I can remember in the good old days packing up my three kids and my niece and taking them down for the show -- on my own, it seemed easy back then....

Yep, your right Rob ... 10 years ago , no problem <_< But having to do the first and last 2 hours in the dark (for a day trip) , cuts me out . After all these years its hard to admit you have limitations , but i do.
