It's a rewarding exercise if you can stick it out but you'll need a tough skin and a lot of determination and time. If you've gotten as far as asking here then you should follow through if just for the experience.

We haven't historically attracted a lot of VA talk here at NZFF even though there are a bunch of people here with many years of VA experience. You're probably better off starting in established places like the following. I've been in a half-dozen or so VAs over the years (as pilot and management) and have found the following forums the most useful, I'd read as many posts there as you can and then start asking questions in their forums.

Good luck

Just to let people know that Noble Air operates out of New Zealand and we have hubs here as well as Aussie, UK, USA and Germany. Here in NZ we have 16 active members and we chat on our teamspeak server whenever we are flying. A number of our NZ pilots are also Vatsim Controllers which is great because a lot of new pilots don't feel as nervous when they know that they are talking to fellow Noble pilots.

We have a fantastic pirep system which was created by one of our Australian fellow pilots and this is being updated regularly with lots of new features.

I myself have been flying since May 2010 and have 15000 flying hours which I have earned over the last 5 years flying whenever possible, as well as that I am asst hubcaptain for NZ and also the Fleet Manager for our very large fleet. We fly most aircraft and after 50 hours flying you can go from a small aircraft to a 777 no questions asked.

We also have a great lot of ribbons or some call them missions which you can do and when you have finished you receive a ribbon beside your name.

If anyone is interested check out our website www.nobleair.net where you can check out how we operate and then if interested you can fill out an application form online.

We have our AGM on the 23rd Jan 2016 at 10.00am nz time but you would need to join up before hand so you can access teamspeak.

Don't think the original poster was looking for promotions of your VA to be honest.
If you want to do that feel free to start your own thread, and hopefully it doesnt turn into a my-va-is-better-than-yours thing :wink2:
