Weird, I installed that a few hours ago too (Should be installed after your scenery btw) but didn't get those issues. Only notable issue at NZQN is the river to the left of the airport is a little bit of a dipper with the water at the banks slightly higher but other than that, perfectly fine...

It really is a roller coaster with ORBX , the NZSI SP3 seems to recreate the same or build on elevation issues which was a debate, I charged in at the beginning , maybe a Service Pack 4 a SP4 laying levels to suit the AIP layout and ground levels "ALT's" - little silly having two elevations one default or VLC and the other not correspond to true levels - why it was changed in the first place I don't why.

Bob , Over last few days been getting silly errors and all sorts off problems and this a fresh install, FR dropped seriously, buildings disappearing, this all on a new but for a processor, new PC, speaking to others and they are also having problems , seems everyone has a different issue.

It seems a removal and re-instal of Milford & Queenstown is the way to go. Can't remember where I got this but it might help some, particularly noobs.:

To completely uninstall all ORBX products (useful if your suffering problems, and fixes most issues providing your basic FSX install is OK)
FIRST set FTXCentral to [Default]

- Browse to your main FSX folder, and delete the ORBX folder
- Browse to FSX\Scenery\World\Scenery and delete any ORBX/NRM/PFJ/PNW/EU/NZ.. titled files

And then delete any orbx icons etc.. on the desktop
------------------------------------------------------------
To uninstall a FTX airport, I'll use YSCH as an example :

FIRST set FTXCentral to [Default]

- Browse to FSX\ORBX\FTX_AU (for American airports browse to FSX\ORBX\FTX_NA instead)
- Delete the FTXAA_YSCH folder

- Browse to FSX\ORBX\Scripts
- Delete orbx_cpl_ysch and scenerylib_AU_YSCH
- Run FTXconfigrator.exe (silent operation, it removes the scenery library entries)

Use the same guide to delete any payware FTX airport

Trying things out now , I don't have any Europe or Pacific North West, I do have OZ and Global .. Global fixed many problems, all roof texture problems, this SP3 now knows and fix's it as well - means you don't have to buy G ... good for people who want the photo real scenery and city but for some reason really affects Elevations again and now Frame Rates .

Thanks for your help guys!!

Have reinstalled NZMF and NZQN and elevation problems are resolved.

As I have yet to install NZSI SP3 I am trying to reconcile why the FTX ORBXLIBS.140703 install appears to have been the cause for my elevation problems??????!!!!

I have decided to leave NZSI alone for the time being...

Cheers,

Bob R

I really dont know how the library can cause such an issue it doesnt contain any elevation changes. As for sp003 just install it reinstall NZQN and NZMF and all good. It seems that the payware airports have there own elevation bgl corrections. You dont have to uninstall them just reinstall them.

Hi Ian

I've noticed a hit on frame rates lately too but hadn't attributed it to SP3 until you mentioned it.
Taxiing in to NZCH was quite noticeable.
My system is running at 4.2MHz too.
Tempted to uninstall it again if it going to be like that.

After running the new NZSI patch - re-installing Queenstown and Milford Sound over existing installations has worked for me. However, I can't get Real NZ Wanaka/Tekapo working. Even with uninstalling, re-installing and running the Real NZ patch again the scenery is a mess. NZ Nelson looks okay at first glance, but that too may have some minor problems.

Anyone got any solutions?

A processor at 4.2 ... crikey wonder what the cause is , nothing really special about the Christchurch update, with your 4.2 , how much RAM and what is your graphics card?

It's just a mild overclock.
CPU is Intel i7 3770K on a Asus P8Z77-V Motherboard.
It has 8GB Ram & GeForce GTX 660ti graphics.

Not going to touch Christchurch at moment , I'm surprised but not surprised ... regard to FRs .. I'm going to try a theory , fortunate we have a bunch off clever buggers here at NZFF and I have only done a fresh install .. I going to hit two airfields for starters , plan is to get everyone one the same level ..... damn the Service Packs (SPs) and the removed this and remove that ...

... I want a one time fix for both VLC and ORBX only for the airfields and airports .. someone has to get to start somewhere, I'll have a play with my faves ... the addon's and see how it all works and bringing everything into the NZ AIP sheets .

The problem is that the NZSI SP3 patch puts some files back which my installer disables by changing the file extension. So the solution is to find these duplicates, and get rid of the active Orbx versions.

For example, with Wanaka, search your FSX folder for 'NZWF'.

You'll probably get a dozen or more files. Some will be in the RealNZwanaka folder, some in the Orbx folders, and a couple in Scenery\World\Scenery.

The ones you need to check are in ORBX\FTX_NZ\FTX_NZSI_05_SCENERY\scenery and Scenery\World\Scenery.

Make sure the search results are sorted in name order, and look for Orbx files which have both a .bgl and a .bak extension. (You may need to make sure that known extensions are visible.)

If you find duplicates, and they both have the same file date, then just delete the .bgl file.
If the .bgl file has a later file date (that is, it was changed by the patch) then delete the .bak version, and rename to .bgl version to .bak

Simple, eh? smile.gif

Do that for any airports which you have problems with.

If Wanaka still doesn't work well, then try running the Southern Lakes Switcher, and toggling FTX-compatibility off and on again. The Switch should be in your Start menu under Godzone\Southern Lakes

Later scenery will have installers which tidy up this sort of problem, but so far only the Subscription scenery installers use this.

Not sure why Wanaka would be playing up. See below for Wanaka with SP3 working perfectly fine. All I did was (since I had to do a full reinstall anyways) make sure Orbx was installed first, then the SP then the ORBX libraries and after that any other scenery I wanted to plonk on top including RNZ Wanaka
