Anyone know of some (preferably free) tools that would allow me to create VOR to VOR flight plans for FSX? I know the in built flight planner has it but it has no compass, so unless I guesstimate (or have GPS on board) I cannot figure out the course bearing.

Plan-G..and also, another piece of excellent, free software for FSX....>>>>

It gives both "map" and "satellite" views*.
I finally "purchased" the program, but the only real difference between pay and free version is that the paid for version shows ground elevations/terrain (mountain details).
Paul.....I use both Plan-G and FS Tramp....fantastic for flight planning and Radio Navigation, and watching AI and Multiplayer aircraft in real time (Radar!) !
P.S...If you wish to obtain "Google satellite views" in Plan_G, search for the version: V2.05!

If you print the flight plan in FSX, doesn't that printout give you the bearings? Haven't done it in a while, but I thought it did.

Thanks guys, Plan-G worked perfectly. Was able to navigate a 1hr flight above overcast skies by just using VOR - no need to check the map or turn on the GPS. Brilliant! Even if it is a bit old school

..and what is even more wonderful....
...it shows you precisely were all the Fuel Pumps are located, in all the airfields that have them, so that you don't run out of magic juice....
...the same as it did/does in our trusty old FS Navigator!!
Paul....I like magic juice....shaken, not stirred...

...!
