"A massive multiplayer environment exclusively for pilots (sim or otherwise). A world based around flying competency, with careers, reputation and economy with a built-in risk-reward system: cheaper aircraft are less risky and more forgiving than large planes. Compete with others on skill, comfort, experience or earnings, or just join the camaraderie and banter. How you fly matters, however, fly wherever, whatever, whenever! Inclusive of all types of "simmers": GA, business/corporate, commuter/regional, airline, low and slow or high and fast."

Over the years run many MPs without any problem , it is better using TS , big problem i found was low end systems did cause a lag and many jumping in and out , worst feature with many newbies was using cheat keys ... everyone sticks to what their PC can do it proven you will get a good stable multiplay environment.

I'll probably purchase this soon as I've loved Air Hauler and Cargo Pilot but have grown tired of them! I'm confused though - how does Latitude compare to SimAir? They're both from REX and look to be simulating the same thing??

Going into the MP , Doug and myself had a flight in our Mossies from Foxpine to Omaka a whiles back , we both had REX'E but both our weathers were showing different themes , as the host i set the pattern but Doug's was totally different to mine , i think it may not be all that different ... and the other person i'm guessing would also have to have this program on their PC for it to intergrate .

Hey Mattress,

Have you got this yet and if so what are your thoughts? I have a wee bit of spare time at the moment ( Sitting on the instructors station at the sim in Milan) so am trying to read up on it. Due back in NZ next week and keen to get this if any good at least to rate some of my flying. Could it be used at the same time as a VA flight online on Vatsim or is this a replacement for it?

Cheers

Hiya Ty! That sounds like a cool gig! You must get tired of simming at some stage surely!?!?! I haven't bought it yet as I'm waiting for some more info to filter down about SimAir. From the REX forums it sounds like Latitude is the realism/damage engine while SimAir will be a virtual airline type program. I'm on 2 weeks leave at the start of December and hope to sit down with it then to give it a good run through then.

I had a discount voucher for FSS so just went ahead and bought it yesterday. I only have my macbook here with me so loaded it in a virtual windows machine and it looks interesting. From what i have read and played with so far Latitude is really an assessment tool that grades your flights. IT does not inject failures ( like FS Passenger does) but allows you to fly in a virtual world with other pilots. ( I am unsure if you can see them from within the sim if connected to Latitude while flying). I'll check this next weekend when i get home. I'm hoping i can run it in the background to grade my flights while flying for Noble VA and logging hours with them. SimAir sounds interesting as well.

Never get sick of the sim and simming. Could do with one a bit closer to home. These long haul flights are getting a bit tiresome.

From the forum you can't - you need a Vatsim client or other multiplayer service to see other pilots inflight. SimAir will show other VA pilots though........
