Great topic Ian - I read that more than a third of the "Missing" list went missing in that neck of the woods.
While "NZ Bermuda Triangle" might be a bit dramatic, it sure is rugged country.
Small wonder the locals whisper knowingly about Moas wandering around there, unfettered and undisturbed by humankind...

Next question, Bestpilot?

Seeing as it's been nearly three weeks since last question, I'm going to jump in and chuck one up. If Mr. A185F (tongue.gif) wants to come back in with his, just chuck it in over top Ben. winkyy.gif

So, a nice simple one to get back in the flow...

When was the first scheduled trans-Tasman TEAL service? What aircraft was used (type + name)?

For the bonus marks; Who was the Captain, and who was the First Officer? smile.gif

Halfway there Nunner, just need 'When', and the name of the flying boat (I suppose you could say they were all 'christened' winkyy.gif).

Well, you guys have mostly got it, I'll throw in the date. Neil Rennie's 'Conquering Isolation' was where I got this one from, just the foreword, interesting book, worth a read if you get a chance. 30th April 1940, climbing up at 200fpm to a cruising altitude of 5000ft. smile.gif

Not sure who takes this away, Ian or Nunner, or maybe A185F will come back with his question? smile.gif
