Talking about olden Times...and the year "2006".... Anyone remember the flight sim forum; "Simviation"... started by Pete Daly ? I jonined it in 2006, and have been a Member there ever since, popping in every day! It was the Lads in Simviation that dragged me kicking anf screaming into FSNZ in 2010, when a tour of the Australia and New Zealand Coast was organized, and took place, in Multiplayer... on line! The one thing that has always got me permanantlty attached to FSNZ is the "Chat" forum, where i can have fun with evey day! ...and dont forget the Motorcycle...

It's that 'orrible - ERM again right? I've biffed it in the next release and replaced it with a (nonstandard) slant SUNAIR script on the fin. Yes Charl,......... its that "ERM" again that you see in the pic. I dunno about replacing it mate, it has a certain,......... um,......... "character" about it............... Funny where it pops up sometimes, seems to get around a bit. Lawrie.

Sorry about the screenie size - do you admin guys want I should resize? I think we can make an exception for such glorious pictures! ;)

Thanks people. By the way what water affects are you using? The Red Baron Entertainment free water/landclass package. you never cease to amaze me at the quality of graphics coming out of your system... Maybe that is because Queenstown is in the middle of the nowhere, not much autogen around... fairly good FPS. If I sat in my PMDG 1900d cockpit at YSSY, it would be a completely different story!

Wow, those look good in the sim. I haven't had the time to take a look myself. FYI, there's a flyable DC-8-50F in ANZ Cargo colours here: ANZ Pax DC-8-50 series are available here:

Well, I'd describe FSX as more screenshot friendly, and with more direction. FS9 is fine, but it doesn't have some of the Polish that FSX has.

Sorry for the slow reply, clicking "show new posts" lately didn't show me your replies. I try to avoid using photo real areas in my sim. As I fly medium haul mostly, I mostly just don't like the patchy nature of flying in or out of them. I've worked hard to make my 'default' landclass look real, so I don't really need photo real textures. I did have the Chch VFR scenery installed. But (I think) it really is that, VFR scenery, for low level VFR flying. I flew in from Auckland in the 733 and was met by nothing but a big blurred mess. It settled down and loaded...

LOL What Pajero drag racing on NZAA's main runway that would make for an interesting site. Well there was apparently some guy back in the '80s or something who drove onto the runway at Auckland before it was fenced off thinking that it was state highway 1

Sweet shots Monkey! That default Caravan looks just as good as my payware one from feelThere. Impressive ;) I have also noticed that menu bar in lots of screenshots- does it get annoying? Also, are you using any environment addons in that flight, like the RBE mesh and landclass? Hey Trolly. The menu bar is actually quite helpful, it helps me get to the map/kneeboard/watever quicker. Shamefully I don't own the RBE scenery packages, though I may look at it for christmas. And thanks Toprob.

ZK-TZR is a recent arrival and is privately owned with leather interior (toilet?) etc. The guy that founded Alpha Aviation (whom builld Alpha 120s & 160s in Hamilton) owns it. As for the Soundsair crash my friends/flatmates (male/female) were killed in this crash. They were on their honeymoon. Went to their wedding one weekend and their funeral the next which was rather traumatic. Anyway life goes on. Cherrs Naki

That looks cool, I didn't realise Wellington had some real world buildings in the default scenery. :) Yeah its a real surprise, we got some default scenery at Welly and a detailed airport in Auckland, and a chopper repaint of a NZ rescue Jetranger, little old NZ did pretty well this time round, it would be interesting to know what the influence for that was.
