Another version of the TDS Garmin GTN 650/750 has now been released. I'm currently updating my installation. It has now become a device that I would not want to be without in aircraft that are originally equipped with it. In helicopter flying, I don't see it as important as to which GPS is available and in the original we experience, without much talk about it, the falsification of GPS signals. The ground-based navigation systems here in Central and Eastern Europe should be retained and not dismantled.

I would say that going by the camouflage that those B-24s may have been used by RAF Coastal Command as VLR types.

:hesaid: If my memory serves me right, there was or still is a flying version of this in NZ painted as it was for HRH the Prince of Wales...back when. It would be in Royal Blue, can't remember if it was the original or not...may have been sold off to the UK.

Years ago in college, I had chat with air force pilots visiting the campus for recruiting purpose. I asked them why was USAF spending so much money on dirt cheap F-5s when they could have bought more F-16s and F-15s which offered far better performance than F-5s. They said that USAF spent $$$ buying F-5s with moderate performance at dirt cheap price for the sole purpose of dealing with numerical superiority of MIG-19s and MIG-21s because USAF prefers to concentrate higher performing F-16s and F-15s on new generation of Soviet MIGs such as MIG-23s and so on instead of wasting F-16s' and F-15s'...

Haha could not be further from the delta-winged ones! Like the Porter, it's an aircraft absolutely without frills, but hugely capable in its purpose. Marty I agree the 4-wheel drive version is the one, makes you feel invincible. Jan Kees you would not regret the experience, it's a beautiful model. I love my Wilga, be nice to see a repaint for ZK-NEV :)
