It stays fairly dry on the east coast of the South Island due to the Southern Alps creating a 'rain shadow' which causes orographic lifting of the air coming across the Tasman sea' Down in valleys it will be a bit greener/wetter but on the hills, even if the grass is green close to the ground, the appearance is brown/tan because of the long grass strands which stay dry.....Sheep will generally occupy the higher/drier hills with dairy cows being grazed on the greener stuff in the vallies /smile.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :) border= 0 alt= smile.gif /> An example near...

QUOTE (deeknow @ Mar 29 2011,12:43 PM) BTW, has anyone done the AOA MD11 training? I'm most of the way through their freebie VFR course which has been really helpful, am thinking of going for either of the pay-for 763 or MD11 courses... Now that's an interesting link - thanks!!! I think I'll sign up for the freebie course. To old and too broke to do the others /laugh.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= border= 0 alt= laugh.gif />

It is brilliant freeware, so good I didn't bother with the Iris f-14. I did a similar escort with a Jetstar A320. I'll post some screens when I get back home. /smile.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :) border= 0 alt= smile.gif />

QUOTE (AndrewJamez @ Mar 26 2011,6:29 PM) I saw you mentioned UTX in an earlier post, I used GenX and UTX etc ages ago and found that they overwrote the default landclass on more than one ocassion. when i started using the older NZ landclass/roads and rivers and the early FTX sceney I binned it because it continually overwrote landclass files on more than 1 ocassion. Probably due to my lack of knowledge at the time? I dint know but scince I stopped using it I have had no more problems with landclass files. Thanks Andrew. Since ORBX, most of my UTX is disabled but I do have UTXAlaska...

Ok, I finally got off my rump and scanned a couple of photos for you. I'm back to work in Kazakhstan tomorrow, so it was either now or never! Frank Wright was exporting some Cubs to the US so we got all the Cubs on the field together for some photos. Trish Stephens and I went up in the Marine Jetranger and took some photos. Apart from the stripes disappearing due to the recover, the only other difference is the greenhouse. BKJ has the full length greenhouse, whereas most Cubs don't. Edit. Regos are from the left on the shot taken on the ground: BKJ, BJG, BKS (After a repaint from...
