Wow Adam that one made me blink - it belongs on the masthead for the whole month, so much to see! It gets a week only ;) then back to the random banners. I'm using GSX a lot now - and have to say I'm amazed at how much detail they cram into all their systems & animations. I often sit there and do the whole works, catering, icing etc. before the usual boarding and refuelling etc.

QUOTE (hasegawa @ Sep 8 2014,8:15 PM) As far as i know, Japan Airlines (JAL) has flown some time in the early 70s from Tokyo via Sheremetjevo to european destinations.... TODAY there is not much left. Maybee a run from Joannesburg, South Africa to Mayotte (A french territory at the Comores) in the Indian Ocean. A good representation of this place came from France VFR. THE big fleet of UPS, is gone in 2009.. Thanks for the run down and a little history of the use and visits, well back then the Iron Wall it was known ... most the aircraft, the cargo transports have gone third level .

QUOTE (Ian Warren @ Sep 5 2014,10:52 PM) Had static vanes in the front, the fan in behind ..many low bypass engines of the period were set out this way. Wont feel strange screening those HJG 70's full frontal , now i know its not a model fault /thumbup1.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= border= 0 alt= thumbup1.gif />

QUOTE (toprob @ Sep 6 2014,9:07 AM) I'm frantically working on getting Wellington looking good enough for the subscription this month, but it wasn't helped by the fact that I scrapped all the previous photoscenery (which I'd paid for, but thankfully not a fortune) and started over with the new imagery. Now that spring's here, there's no excuse not to pop over sometime, that's for sure. My excuse is that I'm 1000 km away from my PC /winkyy.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= ;) border= 0 alt= winkyy.gif />

QUOTE (Kiwia1spad @ Sep 6 2014,11:21 PM) I believe the front vanes on the JT3Ds were fixed like that Yep, the most, least best example on other engines of the period is the Roll Royce Conway used on the Vickers VC-10, they are very prominent .

QUOTE (Kiwia1spad @ Sep 4 2014,11:27 PM) 486NZ also operated Typhoon's on Ground Strike and before that Hurricane's on Night Intruder raids. If you can find it, the book on 486NZ called the wild winds. It is an amazing read, it in the appendixes they have listed every airframe flown by 486, and all the pilots who flew with the squadron during its life I was lucky to meet a 485 pilot at the Tauanga Airshow 7 years back, that was a Spitfire Squadron as we all know , one thing, he so was damn pleased so many have the knowledge and followed the history.

God Dang .. that is striking /cool.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= B-) border= 0 alt= cool.gif /> .. I have a very good friend who was brought up here, his parents place was directly on the back fence off the 'Watties' plant ... Anton follows the forum here from Japan so he would very happy to see this. /cool.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= B-) border= 0 alt= cool.gif />

QUOTE (scaber @ Sep 4 2014,6:35 PM) I'm sure one of the local farmers would let you land a small aircraft if you bribed him with beer. Well there we go so close to home .. I simply flew past at a 100 MPH in the ole days ... that case, I'll also bring a set off Sheffield knifes .. to cut the fresh lamb steaks after a whoops /biggrin.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :D border= 0 alt= biggrin.gif />
