Ok, email problems solved... I tried another windowlight email account, and that worked, so by a process of elimination, it had to be my password. This I was copy/pasting from my password manager's secure notes, but somehow it had ended up with extra spaces. Remove them, all's well. So technology is back in my good books.

And there's nothing wrong with a Seiko movement :) Too right, Marty. I had a great Seiko watch (which may or may not have passed Oz Customs). Sad to say, it was lost when the boat was swamped coming back from an offshore fishing trip. A week later the company started giving out the 10-year watches. Had lots of seaman mates in Pt Kembla in them days. Mike

Hmm, I wonder about your updates, mine seem few and far between, and normally just happen when I go to shut down and it does an update first -- so I don't remember having to wait. My phone (windows, of course) does updates overnight, I get concerned that it never asks, but I do plan to give up the Windows phone shortly. Advertising is always gonna be annoying, don't get me started. I try and manage it with an ad blocker, so if I need to use Google Chrome -- for chromecast only, normally -- I really notice the ads everywhere! There's been a lot of talk on AVSIM lately about the 'cloud', in...

Yes it is interesting but they will always be limited unfortunately. Even assuming huge advances in battery technology, with batteries that are 30 times more efficient and "energy-dense" than they are today, it would only be possible to fly an A320 airliner for a fifth of its range with just half of its payload, says Airbus's chief technology officer Grazia Vittadini. Maybe the future for larger aircraft lies in the use of a small Thorium generator.

Aharon, thanks for the info ...sorry for the delay my friend. Between work and the Flu, I haven't had much time (or energy) to do much.

I did another trip to Christchurch today, a lot more relaxed than last time! The fog rolled in when I got there, so it wasn't too successful, but I did manage to get some night shots, including some video of the colour changes on the tower -- I don't think it'll have changing colours, but maybe in an update one day. Sophia was in, I wanted to get a shot of it in the mist, but at the usual spot I was turned away. Sundays are always better, as nobody is home... That'll be the last visit before the release of NZCH, so although I had a few things on my list today, most didn't get done. Oh well,...

Hi guys! Sorry long time no see! Still alive and kicking. After spending 15 years behind a flight sim cockpit I decided that I would buy two $10 models from a toy shop in town. Little did I know it would reactivate my interest in the hobby, I fell down the hobby rabbit hole and haven’t really looked back. So flight simming and gaming has taken a break for the most part and my spare time is generally spent painting and gluing things these days. I’m not sure how to post pictures these day since photobucket went silly, so if you are interested in seeing any of these close up, head over to my...
