Airliners still fly during Yom Kippur day in Israel. The only thing that stops is traffic in the morning for a few minutes.

A Clump of Cygnets... has a ring to it don't you think? I am still trying to get a flying clip of my little Kingfisher friend. So far he has used up an entire memory card. Charl, that's a lovely photo.

Hello Paul - this happened in 2014, about 30 years after the OH&S legislation was enacted. Sad, unfortunate news, Mike. I must say, in all my years as an Electrician, (and beyond), I have never suffered an electric shock... ..I've fallen out of bed, toppled off my Motorcycle, and missed the toilet bowl a few times... ...but never touched a live 240/440 volt power line! We; "Sparks" get to appreciate the dangers in advance!.... ...! "Elf 'n Safety"...Heaven, (or whatever), help a tradesman/woman caught up a ladder without a work mate standing on the bottom...

Competency must be there obviously but I feel that some C+T captains expect perfection after (in the rotary world) three hours in the seat. Just not a realistic target. I bumble my way through the ground school most of the time and it's when I take the machine out by myself that the real learning starts. I'm hopeless at retaining numbers so to be honest, I don't give a rats what the TOT red line is on the LTS 101 in the BK... because I know what it looks like on the gauge. That sort of thing. After time in the aircraft, that information starts to sink in.

Would be a bit difficult flying F-35As from a carrier if you are referring to the RAAF F-35s. The RAF/RN F-35s are F-35Bs. The STOVL model :D Naki, I did know that, but I doubt that our pollies ever did. ATB

Could you get away with this in 2020 I wonder? I'd like to see this remade today, although without Jeremy Wells. He lowers the tone of things which are already pretty low... Give it to Anika Moa and Alice Snedden, it'll be a very different show. I think Jeremy is what makes this show so funny. The way he speaks completely deadpan making it seem like a documentary and yet the subject matter is incredibly funny. He was the perfect choice for this.

Charl ...I dont think "worse" is the right word. You have injected yet another layer into this line of thinking ...I also concur with your "no" after some deliberation...but, I still have niggles, but nothing that would sway me (at the moment) Ahhhh Quantum....
