QUOTE (BigBird @ Mar 25 2010, 06:51 PM) Cheers guys, /thumbup1.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= border= 0 alt= thumbup1.gif /> I have done a fair bit of research over the past couple of days. Turns out the incident happened just over 2 1/2 years ago (I knew it wasn't 5 years) and I have since found out the guy had some additional modifications and cosmetic work done. That was never part of the deal and certainly not required as part of the repair. With his refusal to supply me with a breakdown, I decided to call around a few shops that do this type of repair work...

QUOTE Ignore the fence - just hack a hole through it or something, then feel free to wander around and take what ever pics you want - when arrested - your defence is that you did not know that it was wrong as you were taking photos for the good of your fellow flightsimmers. Yep, hell why not!! If it’s good enough to break into private property, cause millions of dollars worth of damage /ninja.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :ph43r: border= 0 alt= ninja.gif /> plus get away with it and given that the good old tax payer has nothing better to send it's money on I guess no...

Its an awesome shot, apparently from a well know spot along that fence next to runway 36L at Amsterdam - Schiphol (AMS / EHAM) (Netherlands). The fence is not at the end of the runway at all although it looks it. The fence is actually to the side, but angled and there is plenty of runway left. QUOTE (Peppermint @ Mar 16 2010, 02:04 PM) What's up with the 'wavey' parts over the EVA AIR part? Almost looks like it's a banner. Looking at the mist being kicked up by the plane, i'd say the fuselage is covered by a fine dew or water droplets and this wavy pattern is the...

QUOTE (Trolly @ Mar 6 2010, 11:17 AM) Very scenic pics- like Paul said, a world away from the view of central Auckland I'm looking out the window at currently. Would love to come stay out there if I was ever in the region, enjoy the beers /cheers1.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= border= 0 alt= cheers1.gif /> Trolly, if you are ever down, just contact me....Im up here a few weeks every year, and the folks who own it are really great. I took the second shot from the edge of the wharf and watching the beast come around that corner with the driver nailing it and not backing off was very impressive. Always great to watch guys who really push machines like these. Have found a new interest, thats for sure. Here are a few more, have loads more and will try and update my website with some at the weekend.

Whoops got my turboprops wrong .........yes it was an Alison 250 not a LTP-101...there is a version of the Aermacchi SF-260 (which is about the same size as an Airtrainer) with an Alison (now Rolls Royce) turboprop.

We also have testing officers in each club. Modellers are encouraged to get their "Wings Badge" in various disciplines. We are tested on basic club rules as well as watched as we pre-flight a model. Then we have a flight-test of the basics. Nothing difficult - just encouraging safe practices. Wings badges cover disciplines such as Jet / turbines, fast (pyplon racing), aerobatics, gliding, helicopters and large models. We also used to have "Instructors" cards (which I used to hold at my old club 10 years ago). Many of the rallies require you to have a Wings Badge - or fly...

Over here in Perth they are relaying the main runway. They are doing it during the day, closing the main runway for 12 hours from 7 to 7. The second runway cannot handle 747's or 340's so during the times they need to use the runways outside of those times they are using ramps to cover the uneven parts (raising it 6cm). They're also closing the airport for two Sundays while they do the intersection. Perth is also a nominated 380 diversion (we've already had one divert), so I assume they should be able to get these ramps up if required in a hurry.

QUOTE (Bazza @ Feb 24 2010, 11:32 PM) I've decided that I'm too old and slow to crack it into the aviation photo scene, and my gear is a bit naff..... However, I see an opening here for me, I could have become the Gavin Conroy ( ) of frog photography..., only trouble is I don't know where the little bugger went to 5 minutes after I took the shot... /angry.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= border= 0 alt= angry.gif /> /laugh.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= border= 0 alt= laugh.gif /> worth thinking about Bazza.
