I have just changed over to Orcon. Been with Telstra for years but Orcon's offer of $70 for phone and 30 gigs with voicemail that emails you the messages, free caller ID and file sharing capability on the modem was too good to pass up. Telstra was $56.76 for the phone, plus $44.98 for adsl, plus $12.22 per 10 gig pack. That works out at $138.40 per month for 30 gigs. I've elected to have 50 gigs at just under $100 per month. Email address does not concern me as I never used a Telstra email, all my mail goes through Gmail. I have set up a redirection with...

QUOTE (toprob @ Aug 7 2011,4:27 PM) I had a chat with my son about this a couple of weeks ago -- he's not at all into aviation, but he was interested in the fact that some of the action sequences were shot using Canon DSLRs, which is his interest, as he is in Colombia making a movie this way at the moment. Canon 5D Mark II, a real masterpiece. It's not the first time 5D's have been used this way, in the finale of the TV drama House 5D's shot the whole thing, due to the space restrictions. Many doco makers are starting to use them because they are also very cheap in...

Excellent blog, thanks for the link. I read top to bottom, just as you warned! I do find myself gagging on the topic of AF447, and in particular what the media do to the likes of "retired pilot and American hero, Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger" There's an incredibly extensive Air Accident Investigation underway. It will come up with some findings, and when it does, that will be the time to comment. There will most certainly be revised training requirements for pilots of future airliners. Human-as-monitor-of-automated system, is very different from bugs-in-your-teeth...

QUOTE (victor_alpha_charlie @ Jul 31 2011,10:13 PM) Haha why not turn this into a 'Random Observation' thread? Other forums have them, just one place to put anything not really worthy of it own thread. Anyone agree? Isn't that called Twitter? /laugh.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= border= 0 alt= laugh.gif />

i just brought some li-po betteries for my rc cars too, and all over them the packaging had do not send by air, i have also noticed that rc battery suppliers have said that they will not send li-pos by air, as said above the biggest problem will be the consumer products, laptops phones etc, funny thing is i didn't know about this accident, haven't heard a thing, makes me wonder if it is going to take a passenger plane to be brought down before anything will happen, rip to the crew, lives lost that more than likley could have been avoided. On Flying Wild Alaska they had a short clip, only a few seconds long, of a 207. Must of been right on tipping point, because he throttled up and pulled back while parked and that was enough to get the front wheel off the ground.

QUOTE (cowpatz @ Jul 26 2011,1:32 PM) Emirates operating the Tasman is a sore point. They don't make any money on the route they just lose less. Rather than leaving the aircraft parked all day at Sydney and paying the huge parking fees they operate the Tasman. I was thinking the possible reason why only 168 on board , one flight on the Malay 777 the plane was empty .
