QUOTE (steelsporran @ Dec 9 2011,1:35 PM) I guess you could work out the miniatures proportionally from the full size rule: 1st ribbon 1 1/2 " long and everything level at the bottom after that. There's a place on the corner of Kinross St and Sutherland Terrace, they're in the yellow pages. Why not get them Court Mounted? That way the mounter will provide new ribbons for all of them.

QUOTE (cowpatz @ Sep 8 2012,2:39 PM) Marty for what it is worth I inquired as to the cost of a screen replacement at a place that does phone repairs in San Francisco . I thought that it may be cheaper to repair there but it is actually quite pricey at US$300 plus tax. Thanks very much CP , I can live with it at the moment , but I'll have do something soon. Its still works fine, its just the fact thats its so new ..... oh well .

Last time I had the pleasure of a kick-ass "man's" thunderstorm was 1979 in Costa Rica. We were living in San Jose (captial) which, if I remember rightly, is at either 3,000 or 5,000 ft above sea level. We used to joke that the storms never happened OVER the city but IN it. The thunder was so loud that it would violently rattle glass panes and would had to shout very loudly to be heard. And they weren't these 5 or 10 minute wonders - they would last an hour, easily. And the rain - never seen rain like that: so thick it looked like a grey curtain moving down the road. I...

He is very approachable and if you e mail him he will give you a reply. His email is dave@flyingdoctor.co.nz he will let you know what you should do. He is in Bulls should you need to see Dr Dave. Yep, Deane, it saddens me a bit to be honest- America has such great potential....and that potential can be realised in positive (i.e. scientific endeavor) or negative ways (i.e. war mongering). It seems as if the latter has taken a bit more of a priority in the last 30 years (not that they are totally mutually exclusive mind you). Imagine that though: Standing on a different celestial body, looking back at earth....I'm sure it would be a crazy mix of exhilaration, emotion and a bit of fear!

QUOTE (cowpatz @ Aug 26 2012,7:40 PM) Is it good? The A2A Boeing Flying Fortress with Accusim is gorgeous , from the first time startup to the running , an oversized DC-3 in a way on steroids as some would say , crew commands to maintain it to many supreme historical Fort paints by Jan Kees , suits me due my constant sourcing the actions of the type during WWII then off course our often regular MP flights forming formations . Most Highly Recommended /plane.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :plane: border= 0 alt= plane.gif />

Here in NZ a couple of times nuclear tests carried out by the US were witnessed in one event the sky over NZ turnned white then red and scared the cr@p out of alot of people. Before one of the nuclear tests the Soviets were doing a U2 was overflying a test area just prior to the bomb going off the pilot seeing this had to nervously wait until he had flown over it which took a while as they are quite slow(45min-1hour). Early tests were atmosheric but later they started doing them underground. Unfortunately alot of people have been afftected by these tests in the past and alot have got cancer...

no worries ian. thought you would like the book, just make sure your shelves are wobbly proof!!!! sullenburger's two books are titled Highest Duty, My Search for What Really Matters and Making a Difference: Stories of Vision and Courage from America's Leaders, the second is more about ledership than flying where as the first focus more on his path that led to the ditching. haven't got the books yet but sounds like an interesting read. but again can highly recommend qf32 Jason
