We are not quite ready to go the EV route just yet. I'm waiting for the solid state batteries to become mainstream before making the change.

Went to visit NZPP today, Metservice were extraordinarily helpful, and I got to walk around and take plenty of photos. So no need for plan B. Although I am wondering if the entire airport won't just be abandoned by the time I finish the scenery, after a couple of conversations with locals. I popped into the airport terminal and asked about going airside for a couple of photos, but no luck, due the 'current political situation.' There was a worry that I was a reporter, which I liked -- at least I still look employable, at 70. I checked to see what had changed since my last visit, but not much....

It's just as bad here. There has been no preventive burning of understory fuel for years. Various levels of Gummint have cut funding and used devious means to force volunteers out of the Rural Fire Service (as was). They seem to take the view that after the major fires a few years back, there was nothing left to burn; but many eucalypts depend on fire to regenerate, so they recover very quickly, especially when a bad fire season is followed by floods. So now there is lots of undergrowth and the winter months saw very low rainfall, and now there is lots of nice dry understory fuel. When will...

Incredibly lucky that the fluttering rudder didn't set up a resonance that took off the fin too. My money is on the airframe being scrapped.

Today, my grand-daughter and I were in the garden, and a kereru came visiting. Looking at the colours, if this is a simulation, I really want their GPU. On the other hand, most of what goes on inside my head is a real waste of CPU time.

I once had the dubious privilege of babysitting a flock of 100 or so emu's - it's a long story... They are a cantankerous breed, especially the Girls. Only way to avoid being henpecked, is to stick your arm straight up, palm down, above their heads. They transplant this into their bird brains as being somehow dominant, and then leave you alone.
