And if you have a gear problem you could ask the little old lady in 24K if she saw the panel move up and back down. Sounds like a brilliant little bit of information for an annual refresher course.

QUOTE (SA227 @ Mar 27 2014,9:26 PM) Exactly Ian! I was in charge of this project and we could have operated at 3am quite happily, just not for the 3 weeks we required so rather than fork out for the noise testing the schedule was changed to 6am. Potentially the odd metro might pass through as we will be using Nelson as a technical alternate at times It really has gone, well mental! ... I would have thought Nelson is more populated and closer to the airport, ..... solution to the problem ..... people who complained, now there address's ..... hold back their mail for two...

QUOTE (NZ255 @ Mar 2 2014,11:58 AM) Far out, interesting stuff. Do you know if they're loosing money on that route or just breaking even? I'm not sure. I know a while ago they were having to carry a lot more gas than they wanted to because many of the enroute airfields were not capable to handling the Code F A380. So the distance between the available emergency use airfields was quite distant necessitating the carriage of a lot of fuel to cover the depressurisation scenario. That would have hurt.
