Simply they had the weather to really help out ... would have been amazing they had that extra range , looking at the footage here tho lightly loaded E-2 with those wings and the power ... yeah pilot skills to boot B-)

...when it comes to selling aircraft to airlines. Always puzzled me that you'd expensively fly an expensive airframe to an airshow and expensively fly it around in a circle to convince the bean counters that your seat-mile cost was the lowest available... I'm very sure they are also trying to sell to 'Joe Public' just to prove they can't break it ..... Yet :D
